Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Board of Education discussed the Alternative Schedules Initiative, recapping some issues that came up following the December community presentation. At that time, the community survey was postponed. The Alternative Schedules Task Force met in January to explore the next steps and ways to further educate the community about this topic.

Freedom is under assault on a global level. From the growth of authoritarianism in free countries during covid (for example, Canada’s use of the formerly titled War Measures Act to shut down peaceful protests) to Putin’s efforts to erase an entire democratic nation from the map as anything more than his puppet, freedom is under siege. Republicans must continue to lead efforts to protect freedom because of the dire consequences that will follow if it goes to the wayside – and in this current conflict that means supporting Ukraine.

Emergency Service Volunteers in New Jersey Could Earn a $5000 Tax Credit

Trenton NJ, Senator Christopher Connors, Assemblyman Brian Rumpf, and Assemblywoman DiAnne Gove have reintroduced legislation S-1697 and A-757 that would permit volunteer firefighters and first aid or rescue squad members to claim an additional exemption of $5,000 to be taken as a deduction from their gross income if they meet certain qualifications.

Ridgewood NJ, a reminder from the Ridgewood Police Department , as of March 1st New Jersey has implemented a new “Move Over” law:
When approaching a pedestrian or a person on a bike, skateboard or scooter on the roadway, drivers must: Move over one lane when passing, if it safe to do so, or allow four feet of space between the car and the person being passed. If it is not safe or possible to move over one lane, drivers must slow to 25 MPH.
