Early Morning T-Bone collision at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Pleasant Avenue in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, one (1) minor injury was reported following a two (2) vehicle, T-Bone collision at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Pleasant Avenue, Ridgewood at approximately 0745 hours on Tuesday, 02/07. The injured party refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Fire Department units responded to the incident.

It is now available to a group of trusted testers and will be released more widely in the coming weeks. Bard will draw on information from the web to provide high-quality responses.

Waldwick Firefighters Respond to two alarms to the Methodist Church in less than 12 hours

Waldwick NJ, Waldwick, NJ Volunteer Fire Department responded to two alarms to the Methodist Church less than 12 hours apart for different reasons. The first alarm occurred around 11:30 Saturday night for an activated fire alarm. 1st arriving crews found a broken heat pipe on the second floor. The furnace was secured with the assistance of the building manager. This morning at 9:45 another fire alarm was reported. First arriving companies found a heavy smoke condition coming from the basement. A second alarm was sounded due to the age of the structure. A hand line was stretched and crews entered the basement to find a very large blower motor on fire. The power was cut to the unit and the fire quickly went out. Mutual aid companies assisted with ventilation of the facility and overhaul.

Mahwah NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of THOMAS JOHNSON (DOB: 1/24/93; single; self-employed) of 58 Amherst Street, East Orange, NJ on charges related to five armed robberies of gas stations and convenience stores in Bergen County, NJ on January 22 and 25, 2023. The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Midland Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced additional information in an investigation into a house fire that occurred on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 222 Franklin Avenue in Midland Park, NJ. An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Midland Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Michael Powderley.

UPDATE: School Bus collides with an SUV at the Intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Highland Avenue in Paramus

Paramus NJ, An unknown number of children sustained minor injuries when a Paramus Board of Education owned & operated school bus collided with a Mercedes SUV at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Highland Avenue, Paramus, at approximately 0840 hours on Monday, 02/06. The bus was en route to the Parkway Elementary School on East Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus, at the time of the crash. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS units responded immediately to 911 telephone calls reporting the incident. As a safety precaution, no students were removed from the school bus at the scene (busy intersection). The bus instead continued to the school (less than 1/2 mile away), where injured students were taken to the nurse’s office for evaluation. An ambulance and EMS Supervisor’s vehicle, along with numerous police vehicles, were observed parked in front of the school following the bus’ arrival there. Police at the crash scene did not indicate if any summonses were issued to either driver.

UPDATE: Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg has reported that the Mercedes driver was issued three (3) summonses: Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, and Failure to stop for a red light. The Mercedes sustained moderate front end damage; a safety device was ripped from the school bus’ front bumper and recovered from the Mercedes’ front right fender by Paramus PD Emergency Services Unit officers.

Passenger Vehicle Plows into a Crowded Restaurant in Fair Lawn

Fair lawn NJ, Multiple non-life threatening injuries were reported when a passenger vehicle plowed head on into the crowded Green Dragon Asian Cuisine Restaurant in Fair Lawn early Sunday evening, 02/05. All Borough of Fair Lawn emergency services agencies responded to the incident. The restaurant. located in the 1900 block of Fair Lawn Avenue, Fair Lawn, sustained heavy damage to its exterior façade and interior dining room. The vehicle, a Ford SUV, was backed out of the interior on its own power, then removed from the parking lot by a flatbed tow truck. The driver was apparently uninjured in the mishap.
