The vote was scheduled for action at the Borough Council’s July 6 meeting, but it was postponed that night until at least its July 18 session. Tuesday’s notice on the borough’s “Latest Buzz” website newsletter changed the vote date to Aug. 15.

Franklin Lakes NJ, Franklin Lakes residents came out in force telling borough officials they want nothing to do with a proposal to build an enormous 640-unit multi-housing development on the 89-acre IBM/Express Scripts property off Parsons Pond Drive. Over 300 residents from the borough and adjacent Wyckoff attended the combined Franklin Lakes Borough Council and Planning Board information session held at Franklin Avenue Middle School on Wednesday night. During the four-hour session, the residents asked many questions, but mostly they voiced objections to the plan.

Oakland NJ, at approximately 2:40 this afternoon, Franklin Lakes Fire Department Chief 330, 340 and Rescue 3 were requested into Oakland at Franklin Lakes Road and Bauer Drive for a vehicle off the road with entrapment. Crews assisted Oakland Fire Department in stabilizing the vehicle and extricating the driver. The patient was removed and turned over to Oakland First Aid Squad for transport to a local hospital. Companies cleared the scene within the hour. Great work by all on scene.
