Glen Rock NJ, Between April 6 and April 12, Glen Rock Police Department handled 296 calls for service including a high speed chase ending on Route 4 . On April 6 at 10:27 a.m., a Glen Rock police officer came across a 2019 Honda wanted by Wayne police for a mail theft. The officer tried to pull the Honda over on Route 208 South, and the driver of the Honda fled. The chase continued, sometimes in excess of 100 miles-per-hour, toward Route 4.

Glen Rock NJ, no injuries were reported by the occupants of a single family home located in the 300 block of Ackerman Avenue, Glen Rock after a municipally owned tree crashed into it on Thursday afternoon, 04/09. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock Fire Department responded to the incident. The fallen tree appeared to have caused minimal structural damage.

Glen Rock NJ, according to the Glen Rock Police Department over the past week, they have seen an uptick in vandalism in town. Offensive graffiti has been found on the Wilde Park bathrooms, the utility boxes between the basketball courts and hockey rink, and the rear of the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps building. A water fountain was also completely damaged and knocked over in Wilde Park.
At this time, we do not know if the actor(s) were from town or out of town. Glen Rock Police understand that sheltering at home is difficult and it can be frustrating that the parks and public spaces are not accessible.

Glen Rock NJ, Dr. Arati Kreibich’s campaign for Congress in NJ-5 announced filing for the June 2nd primary ballot with 1,289 signatures, more than six times the minimum requirement of 200. The signatures come from all four counties in NJ-5 and were collected by over 60 volunteers.

The Marjorie Vandervoort Vocal Award in the amount of $1,200 was instituted during the 90th Anniversary Season (2017-2018) in honor of Marjorie Vandervoort’s 25 years of service as our Music Director. Glen Rock NJ, A garbage truck owned and operated by the Bergen County Parks Department slammed into a tree limb in the 600 block of Prospect Street, Glen Rock, on Friday afternoon, 03/27. No injuries were reported in the mishap and there was minimal property damage to a single family home near the incident location. A Glen Rock Police uniformed patrol officer responded to handle the reporting process.

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police have issued the following statement ,”There is a purposeful internet misrepresentation campaign in effect claiming an imminent national shutdown evoking the “Stafford Act.”
In fact, the Stafford Act, a law that allows the federal government to unlock resources directly to states has already been activated. Trump declared the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency on Friday, using authority granted by the law, which passed in 1988 and has been updated twice since. The Stafford Act does not have a provision that would allow the federal government to declare a mandatory quarantine.

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police report that at 1:19 PM , a Glen Rock woman reported that she received an email from whom she thought was the Rabbi of her temple seeking assistance. The email asked that she purchase five eBay gift cards for $100 each and that she would be reimbursed. The complainant was further instructed to scratch off the card numbers, photograph them and then email the photo to the Rabbi.
While the woman did this, she called the Rabbi by phone before sending the photos and was informed that this was a scam. No such email had been sent; the email address was fraudulent. The complainant was able to return the gift cards for a full refund and there was no financial loss.

Glen Rock NJ, At 1834 hours on Monday, the Glen Rock Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke on the second floor of a residence on the Boulevard. A second alarm was transmitted in route by 830 upon reports by GRPD of a heavy smoke condition. The main fire area was in the attic space of the home. Crews used a combination of interior and exterior attacks to bring the fire under control. Thanks to all mutual aid towns, including Hawthorne, Fair Lawn, Ridgewood, Midland Park, Paramus, Waldwick, Wyckoff and Elmwood Park. Also thanks to the GRVAC and Glen Rock Police for on scene assistance as well as Northwest and Central Bergen Mutual Aid coordinators and safety officers.

Glen Rock NJ, a new proposal to unite the borough’s middle and high schools under one principal and add half a dozen other administrators .The plan, which would take effect at the beginning of the next school year, would appoint one person to lead grades 6 through 12 and approve the hire of up to five content-area supervisors during the next two years.
School officials say they could fund the extra staff within the state’s 2% school tax levy cap, which keeps districts from raising property taxes without seeking voter approval via a referendum or ballot question. The proposal was promoted as budget neutral.
The proposal has been met with resistance by some parents, teachers and former officials who said the district is barreling toward restructuring without considering the consequences.

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police report that on February 20th at 1:14 PM ,an accountant with a medical services company located on Harristown Road reported that the company had been the victim of a $100,000 wire fraud. The complainant recounted that multiple emails were received from a fraudulent email address impersonating the company CEO and directing the wire transfer to a bank in China for international business purposes. After realizing that this was a fraud, company representatives contacted police. The detective bureau is currently investigating the matter.

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police report that on February 12th at 12:52 PM, the owner of an office building located at 11 Harristown Road reported a series of incidents which have occurred at his building over the last week. The matters include illegal dumping, broken light fixtures as well as an unknown, possible flammable substance having been poured in carpeting in the hallways of the building. The detective bureau is currently investigating this report.
