Glen Rock NJ, US President Donald Trump revealed the Blueprint For Testing Plans And Rapid Response Programs, which outlines plans to increase testing capacity to 2 million tests per week across the country. The Blueprint delineates roles and responsibilities of the federal government, state/local/tribal governments, and the private sector in order to reach this goal. While the Blueprint does not call specific actors or companies to action, pharmacy chain CVS said in response that it will partner with the federal government to provide drive-through testing at its facilities, among other potential activities. Scaling up testing capacity is a major factor in many plans to safely reopen parts of the economy in the coming weeks and months. The Blueprint highlights several areas in which capacity could be scaled, including expanding the number of testing platforms, enhancing sample collection, and maximizing laboratory capacity.

Glen Rock NJ, accroding to the Glen Rock Police Department ,the Glen Rock DPW and Parks Department work hard to provide and maintain our beautiful parks and their facilities, that is why it is so disheartening to see activity like this. The Wilde Park bathrooms were opened by the DPW yesterday morning who found they had been broken into and vandalized over the winter. The bathrooms were cleaned, winterized and locked for the winter prior to the Covid-19 outbreak. The Glen Rock Police Department regularly patrol the parks (you may have seen us driving through) however, the damage was not visible from the exterior.
The damage in these photos may have been done prior to the pandemic, however there has been an increase in property damage recently. Please help us and the DPW keep our town beautiful.

Alert: No National Shutdown – This is False Information.

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police have issued the following statement ,”There is a purposeful internet misrepresentation campaign in effect claiming an imminent national shutdown evoking the “Stafford Act.”

In fact, the Stafford Act, a law that allows the federal government to unlock resources directly to states has already been activated. Trump declared the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency on Friday, using authority granted by the law, which passed in 1988 and has been updated twice since. The Stafford Act does not have a provision that would allow the federal government to declare a mandatory quarantine.

Glen Rock School Administration Consolidation

1136243439 4e66fd1f6c z1

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Glen Rock NJ, a new proposal to unite the borough’s middle and high schools under one principal and add half a dozen other administrators .The plan, which would take effect at the beginning of the next school year, would appoint one person to lead grades 6 through 12 and approve the hire of up to five content-area supervisors during the next two years.

School officials say they could fund the extra staff within the state’s 2% school tax levy cap, which keeps districts from raising property taxes without seeking voter approval via a referendum or ballot question. The proposal was promoted as budget neutral.

The proposal has been met with resistance by some parents, teachers and former officials who said the district is barreling toward restructuring without considering the consequences.
