Twp. of Washington NJ, an unspecified bomb threat forced the Fresh Grocer store on Pascack Road, Washington Township to be temporarily evacuated late Friday afternoon, 05/03. Three (3) K9 units from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office performed a “sweep” of the entire building and parking lot area. Township fire and EMS units were placed on standby and staged on a nearby side street. No injuries were reported during the evacuation, and no bomb technicians from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad were observed at scene (a squad supervisor was present though). Police cleared the scene of all caution tape within 60-90 minutes of the order to evacuate.
Twp. of Washington NJ, all travel lanes of the Garden State Parkway southbound in Washington Township, Bergen County were closed temporarily on Saturday morning, 04/20, as emergency crews worked to safely remove an individual from a passenger vehicle that had rolled over. Washington Township first responders were assisted at the scene by Paramus Police ESU and Westwood EMS. No information was available as to the victim’s condition. New Jersey State Police Bloomfield Barracks Troopers responded to the incident as well. A flatbed tow truck was standing by to remove the wrecked vehicle.
Twp. of Washington NJ, PSE&G will be in town Milling and Paving from March 25, 2024 through April 9, 2024. The start time each morning is 7:00 AM and completion is approximately 3:00 PM. PSE&G did deliver notices to residences of the impending work.

Twp. of Washington NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DONALD KUMAR DAVIS (DOB: 03/17/1990; single, strength and speed coach) of Lyndhurst, NJ, formerly of Nutley, NJ, on charges of aggravated criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Acting Chief Matthew Finck and the Wyckoff Police Department under the direction of Chief David Murphy.
Twp. of Washington NJ, on February 20 2024 at approximately 4:20 AM, Township of Washington Police responded to the Northeast Side of the Township to assist Hillsdale Police Department who had multiple vehicles entered in their town, on our border.
TWP. of Washinngton NJ, Township of Washington Police have seen an increase in entered vehicles and attempted/stolen vehicles over the last few weeks. Last night our East Side of town appeared to be targeted as well as other Pascack Valley towns. In all of the thefts, the vehicles were left unlocked. PLEASE remove your keys and key fobs, remove all valuables and most importantly lock your vehicles.
