Glenwood Road Hill Will Be Closed by NJ Department of Transportation and NJ Transit on May 15th

Ridgewood NJ, on or about May 15, 2021, the Glenwood Road Hill will be closed while the NJ Department of Transportation and NJ Transit improve the railroad crossing at the Ho-Ho-Kus train station. This closure will last for approximately 30 days. When Glenwood Road reopens, it will be a one-way street, down the hill.

UPDATE: Village Council will allow dining “corrals” to remain in place at least through October 31

As a result of feedback received from several restaurant owners, Village Council members agreed on Wednesday evening to permit Dining “corrals” to remain in place on several side streets in the Village’s Central Business District until at least October 31.

The hawk has moved into the trees behind the Religious Ed Building (former Convent) and can be seen perched on the chimney of that building or the school throughout the day. He/She also likes to perch on the crosses on the roof line of the church. Next time you are here look up and see if you can spot it!

RIDGEWOOD FAMILY DEDICATES TWO TREES IN HONOR OF FRONTLINE HEROES, ESSENTIAL WORKERS, AND VOLUNTEERS AT ARBOR DAY CELEBRATION

Ridgewood NJ, The Mahmoud and Gigi Hamza family of Ridgewood created a lasting tribute of appreciation for frontline heroes, essential workers, and volunteers serving bravely and valiantly during the coronavirus pandemic by donating two oak trees on the north lawn of Veteran’s Field. The trees— planted by village employees last fall— were fittingly dedicated on Arbor Day, April 30, 2021.

Ridgewood NJ,  with COVID-19 numbers trending decisively in the right direction and New Jersey progressing toward its adult-age vaccination goals, Governor Murphy today announced an additional easing of restrictions, including a removal of all percentage capacity limits for indoor and outdoor businesses, a lifting of the prohibition on indoor bar seating, and an end to the outdoor gathering limit. As detailed below, some changes will take effect on Friday, May 7, with others taking effect on Wednesday, May 19, in coordination with both New York and Connecticut.

By More Than 3-to-1 Margin, Voters Say Capitalism Is Better Than Socialism

Ridgewood NJ, Despite all the criticism by media, education and politicians  capitalism has endured in recent years, American voters still overwhelmingly prefer it to socialism.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that only 18% of Likely U.S. Voters say socialism is a better system than capitalism. More than three times as many voters (65%) say capitalism is better. Seventeen percent (17%) are not sure.
