Ridgewood Police Patrol Officers Kyle Monton and Kyle Scarpa responded to multiple reports of ducklings trapped in storm water catch basins throughout Ridgewood on Monday evening, 06/22. Here, the two (2) officers worked to free a duckling that got stuck in a catch basin located on Kira Lane, Ridgewood. Mama Duck was quacking loudly nearby until Officer Monton released her young charge out of his hands. All in an evening’s work for Ridgewood’s Finest!

As many of you know, the 4th of July in Ridgewood is entirely funded by community donations, and with our local businesses deeply impacted by the shutdown, we felt cancelling this year’s events was the most responsible thing to do.

Ridgewood NJ, Coronaviruses, like the one that causes COVID-19, are thought to spread mostly person-to-person through respiratory droplets when someone coughs, sneezes, or talks. It is possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object, including food or food packaging, that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. However, this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that handling food or consuming food is associated with COVID-19.
After shopping, handling food packages, or before preparing or eating food, it is important to always wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Remember, it is always important to follow good food safety practices to reduce the risk of illness from common foodborne pathogens.

Ridgewood NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced increased indoor and outdoor gathering capacity limits as COVID-19 cases in New Jersey continue to decline. Effective immediately, indoor gatherings are now limited to 25% capacity of the rooms in which they will take place, with a maximum of 100 persons. Outdoor gatherings are now limited to 250 persons, and outdoor religious services and political activities will continue to have no numerical limits.
Ridgewood central business district is once again alive with music, dining, and social distancing. They new concept of a Pedestrian Mall fell into place nicely for the first evening, welcoming in summer. Stay tuned each Saturday and Sunday throughout the summer months for more music and outdoor dining. Increases in dining and gathering capacities should help Village businesses start to recover form the COVID lock down .

There is a clear absence of leadership on all fronts, these days. It’s almost as though the politicians, bureaucrats, and corporate exec’s are in on a secret, and it’s scorched earth and a race to the bottom.
“Fixing” ballots after an election deadline is a recipe for disaster.
The point of an election is to confer power to someone voted for by a plurality of the electorate — the candidate with the most votes. An equally important point is to convince the supporters of the loser that the winner deserved to win — that the count was fair and unbiased.

Conflict after conflict, division after division is the path to self destruction. We are under the siege of extreme ideologies that nobody seems to be able to stand against.
