Hackensack NJ, on February 21, 2024, Hackensack Police Officers responded to a residential home on Poplar Avenue on a report of a person who was being held against their will at gunpoint. The suspect was encounted on scene, and a neighboring police department located the victim. The victim was not injured and subsequently transported to Police Headquarters for the investigation.

Bergen Bomb Squad Determines No Threat to Public Safety in Cliffside Park Bomb Threat

Cliffside Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announces that the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Intelligence and Counterterrorism Unit and the Cliffside Park Police Department investigated a bomb threat that was reported at 12:41 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, in the 500 block of Anderson Avenue in Cliffside Park. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded and conducted a precautionary sweep. The area sweep and search by the BCSO’s Bomb Squad determined there were no threats to public safety. Residents were allowed to return to the area at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The Academy is a unit of the County of Bergen’s Law and Public Safety Institute and operates as a partnership between the County of Bergen, the BCPO, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. Bergen Hazmat Deployed to Stubborn Car Fire at Bergen Community College in Paramus

Paramus NJ, a motor vehicle fire in the “B” parking lot of Bergen Community College’s main campus destroyed what appeared to have been a Honda CRV SUV, and heavily damaged a 4-door sedan that was parked next to it. The inferno was reported just prior to 11:00 am on Tuesday, 12/19. Firefighters from Paramus Engine Companies #3 and #1 extinguished the stubborn blaze. Technicians from the Bergen County Hazardous Materials Unit were called to address a large, fire related fuel spill No injuries were reported in the incident. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.
