Visit Ridgewood’s Central Business District and Shop Locally for Small Business Saturday

Ridgewood NJ, Small Business Saturday, which will be held on November 27 this year, urges people to support small businesses by purchasing locally. At the height of the Great Recession, American Express established this shopping holiday in 2010 as an effort to divert holiday shopping to local retailers. After a decade, it is now commemorated in all 50 states, and the Senate passed a resolution commemorating Small Business Saturday in 2011.

The Village of Ridgewood 2021 Christmas Tree Arrives

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department escorted this year’s Christmas tree from Township of Washington to East Ridgewood and Broad St where it will be decorated for the Downtown for the holidays celebration on December 3rd. Downes Tree Service got the tree in shape and in the stand . The tree stands 60 feet tall where it is now and it is a Norway spruce.

Getty Station in Ridgewood Under New Management

Ridgewood NJ, according Ridgewood resident to Tony Loving the Getty gasoline station at the corner of North Walnut Street and Franklin Avenue reopened last week under new management. The previous operator had relocated his repair business to Oak Street. “Gas only” or “gas & repairs” was not clarified by the attendant on duty when we stopped by.

Ridgewood Village Council Extends Dining Corrals until Dec. 31, 2021

Ridgewood NJ, the Village council has voted to extend the use of dining corrals until Dec. 31, 2021. Business owners have to pay $250 per parking space they are taking up per month.

Aside from Ridgewood Citizens for Reasonable Development and Concerned Residents of Ridgewood the group Friends of Schedler has also endorsed  Melanie Hooban.

“On November 2nd (and earlier by mail-in-voting), Ridgewood Residents are being asked to choose a new Village Council member. As most residents are aware, two citizens groups have long defended the Village from oversized development. Where RCRD was founded to support rational changes to our CBD, CRR members prevented Valley Hospital from overwhelming a vital Ridgewood residential district.
