New Jersey Transit Police Department’s Office of Emergency Management ,First responders , and Law enforcement Conduct a Training Exercise at Wayne Route 23 Transit Center

Wayne NJ, the New Jersey Transit Police Department’s Office of Emergency Management (OEM), together with additional law enforcement and emergency response partners, conducted a training exercise on Saturday, November 20th at the Wayne Route 23 Transit Center. The exercise began around 9 am and continued for approximately 3 hours.

Ridgewood NJ, 9/11 remembrances were held across  Bergen county . The Village of Ridgewood lost 12 neighbors on that day and the Village of Ridgewood hosted a 9/11 remembrance to  remember and honor all those tragically lost on 9/11 at Memorial Park at Van Neste Square .

The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds have announced flight plans over New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia to salute first responders and hospital workers working on the front lines of the coronavirus outbreak. Carneys Point Township, NJ, The New Jersey State Police have charged a 17-year-old male from Elmer, N.J., a 16-year-old male from Penns Grove, N.J., and a 16-year-old male from Pittsgrove, N.J. for allegedly throwing an object off an overpass that injured a truck driver on the New Jersey Turnpike.

NJ Rep. Chris Smith Gets 41 Million Medical Gloves Locked in Govt Warehouses Released

FREEHOLD NJ, Within 24 hours of being contacted, Rep. Chris Smith (NJ-04) persuaded the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to release a massive shipment of 41.3 million medical-grade gloves for distribution in the United States for medical professionals including nurses and doctors and to first responders. The gloves had been held by CBP since late September of last year.

At this critical juncture, when supplies of personal protective equipment—PPE—are scarce and medical professionals need to be safeguarded from the coronavirus, we needed to act quickly and work with federal officials to get 41.3 million medical examination gloves released by CBP and into the communities across the country where they are desperately needed,” said Smith.

Due to the potential for COVID-19 related illnesses, Ridgewood Emergency Service personnel will be wearing enhanced Personal Protective Equipment on certain calls deemed to have a high risk of exposure to respiratory illness. This is to protect our first responders, so they are able to stay healthy and continue to respond to other medical emergencies.
