Ridgewood NJ, on May 14th, the Village of Ridgewood submitted a revised application to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) concerning the Zabriskie-Schedler Turf Field Project. This revision includes a comprehensive field use assessment conducted by Suburban Consulting Engineers, Inc., addressing comments made by the SHPO in a letter dated March 22, 2024. Ridgewood NJ, according to a Ridgewod Blog reader, “Doesn’t seem to bode well for Mayor Vagianos or the village of Ridgewood. especially as Vagianos is trying to get re-elected for another term. How can we trust that anything he says is truthful and that he does not stand to benefit in some way by making choices that do not benefit the people he was elected to represent.”

At Wednesday evenings Village Council meeting  resident Jackie Hone , who was denied an OPRA request under client attorney privilege. Village Attorney Matt Rogers  said attorney client privilege extends to consultants hired by the Village .

Ridgewood Historic Consultant Contract Comes Under Fire , Mayor Claims He Knows Nothing

Ridgewood NJ, on Wednesday September 6 at the Village Council Workshop, Councilwoman Lorraine Reynolds expressed her concerns that Peter Primavera’s contract is being extended (more $$$).  She mentioned the myriad contradictions on his resume that have been brought forth by residents who investigated the seemingly fictitious claims on his “resume.”  To this, Mayor Vagianos responded, “…I don’t know anything about that allegation.”  Seriously.

Ethics violation? – Did Ridgewood Councilman (now mayor) use a private e-mail address to conduct official business?

Ridgewood NJ, Correspondence recently obtained via an Open Public Records Act request reveals that Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos may have used a private e-mail address to initiate communication with Historic Preservation Specialist Peter Primavera in November of 2022. Mr. Vagianos was a Ridgewood Councilman at that time; he was appointed mayor in January of 2023. The correspondence, Mr. Primavera’s reply to the then Councilman’s request for information indicates an e-mail address provided by Mr. Vagianos was: [email protected].

In April Mr. Primavera outlined the scope of his proposed work for the Council after summarizing his educational background, professional credentials, and related work experience. At the time the Ridgewood blog reported on his dubious past which was ignored by the council .
