Ridgewood Nj, Ridgewood High School 2014 graduate and Rutgers University graduate Mason Angus died on Feb. 27. He was 24 years old.
“Mason Grant Angus, 24, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on the weekend of February 27th. Mason graduated from Ridgewood High School, in the Class of 2014 and from Rutgers University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He is survived by his mother Vicky Angus and father Tom Angus, along with his two beautiful sisters Cache and Payton. Mason leaves behind his paternal Grandmother, Mary Angus and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Thailand.

We, the families and students of Ridgewood Public Schools, are requesting the Board of Education and Superintendent, Dr. Gorman, take immediate steps to implement full-day daily in-person learning in all schools by April 12, 2021 and enable the families and students of our district to have meaningful input into the district’s Covid 19 mitigation plans and procedures in our schools.

Team Woodchips worked many hours to get the different parts to work together and take another step in their competition season.

Ridgewood NJ, It is being rumored that when the Ridgewood Streets Department used heavy equipment to remove snow from the roof of the Hudson Street Parking garage earlier this winter, the entire garage started to sway and rumble. Future plans call for the removal of snow on the roof deck using a snow blower, if necessary.

NJSIAA announces individual wrestling tournament plans for COVID-shortened season

Ridgewood NJ, In a memo to member schools, the NJSIAA has shared plans for a streamlined, state individual wrestling tournament for both girls and boys. Because the 2021 wrestling season has been so impacted by COVID, there will be no district-level competition – instead, the tournament will begin at the regional level, on April 3 for girls and on April 17 and 18 for boys. No team tournament will be held this season.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood EMS personnel responded to a single vehicle, Sunday afternoon, 02/28, crash at the underpass complex of NJ Transit’s Bergen/Main Line railroad. Both occupants of the crashed vehicle refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital. A flatbed tow truck removed the wreckage. Ridgewood Fire Department, personnel attended to a crash related fluid spill, and also secured loose wiring associated with a damaged street lamp. From the photos its does appear the car may have been going the wrong way. No word on what caused the crash, nor whether any summonses were issued in connection with the mishap.
