“Every immigrant kid has that pivotal moment when she realizes what she’s up against: new culture, no friends, the feeling of awkwardness associated with growing pains exponentially magnified.
I was that kid at age ten when I came to America. My parents worked long hours to make ends meet. With no relatives nearby, for me, the school was an extension of home and teachers were more than just teachers – they were essential role models.”

Ridgewood NJ, first they eliminate the school budget vote now they want to restrict who can serve on a school board . Resident Aditya Sing posts his observations on Facebook of the Ridgewood Board of Education debate ,” you should be very offended by Mr. Kaufman’s statement about excluding almost half of the Ridgewood residents as BOE Trustee, as tax payers they are as much invested as us and actually help set off the school tax cost of school parents, as someone who want to continue living and contribute to Ridgewood and doesn’t wants to put a “for Sale” sign on my home, the day my Child graduates, I am disappointed about an attempt to exclude a large section of residents, while lip serving “DEI” mandates (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).”
“I am committed to fully funding school’s needs for it to provide excellent education for the students in the district. Ridgewood NJ, upgrades and enhancements to the RHS Makerspace Lab are underway through the Duffield STEAM Initiative. New industry-standard equipment will significantly elevate the student experience, preparing them for college and career. The first of a host of new tools arrived last week — the massive Mimaki UV-LED Printer/Cutter. Unlike any piece of equipment currently in the lab, the Mimaki printer/cutter will expand design and production capabilities exponentially. RHS Alumni Association Treasurer, Steve Correll, and Alumni Trustees, Mark Kossick and Amy Ebenstein, were among the first to see this multi-functional machine shortly after it was delivered and learned about some of its impressive capabilities from RHS faculty.
Clean up from Hurricane Ida having been completed, the RHS Athletic Stadium came alive again on Friday night with the return of RHS home football games.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department has been experiencing unprecedented difficulty in hiring crossing guards for this school year, similar to the problem all other businesses are currently facing. Due to this shortage, we have needed to reallocate staffing in order to prioritize posts to those where the students have the most interaction with vehicles, such as on heavily traveled roadways. We are continuing to work diligently on hiring more crossing guards and hope to rectify this situation as soon as possible with the goal of returning to normal operations within a few weeks. As always, the Ridgewood Police Department’s primary concern is the safety of all of our residents and visitors, especially our children. If you are interested and available to become one of our crossing guards, please contact The Crossing Guard Company at 610-504-8764 or visit https://acmssafety.com/careers/ for more information.
