Saddle River Fire Department: Carbon Monoxide Detectors Save Lives

Saddle River NJ, last week the Saddle River Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Old Woods Rd for an activated Carbon Monoxide Alarm. Engine 1131, PSEG, and Saddle River Police responded and investigated the cause for the activation. Valley Health System Paramedic Unit 413 also responded and evaluated the residents for Carbon Monoxide exposure.
These types of Incidents are reminders that smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide detectors save lives.

Slippery Roadway Sends One Victim to the Hospital in “off the roadway” crash, near East Allendale Avenue in Saddle River

Saddle River NJ, Route 17 southbound was the scene of another rainy Sunday, 03/28, “off the roadway” crash, this one occurring in Saddle River, near East Allendale Avenue. What appeared to have been a Toyota pick up truck wound up in a wooded area between a highway entrance and exit ramp. One (1) victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A significant fuel spill was associated with the mishap according to a police supervisor at the scene. Two (2) tow trucks were required to remove the vehicle from the wooded area and haul it from the scene. Saddle River Police was assisted by Upper Saddle River Police and Allendale Police at the scene. Saddle River Fire department also responded along with Allendale EMS.

Saddle River NJ, Saddle River Fire Department announces the untimely passing of Firefighter and Vice President Mark Murray. Mark was a life member and currently held the position of Vice President of the fire association. Mark was called the “cornerstone ” on the department .

Still No Takers for Rosie O’Donnell’s Saddle River Mansion

Saddle River NJ, it seems Rosie O’Donnell is having some trouble selling her $6 million Saddle River mansion. The “English country estate”,  sits on over five acres of land and was built in 1928, the structure has undergone extensive renovations over the years . According to New Jersey property records  the property has been on the market for the past five years and still can’t find a buyer.

Five Charged With Conspiring to Defraud Investors and Mortgage Lenders

Grewal announced that five people have been charged with first-degree conspiracy for allegedly conspiring to defraud two investors and two mortgage lenders of more than $500,000 through fraudulent real estate investments and then launder the proceeds through bank accounts controlled by three of the defendants.

Upon signing in service, Chief Salvatori was advised by Saddle River Police Department that the attached garage was fully involved and he asked for his 2nd alarm mutual aid companies.

No Injuries Reported at Friday Night Route 17 Vehicle Fire in Saddle River

Saddle River NJ, Friday night just after 10pm the Saddle River Fire Department was requested to Route 17 South for a vehicle fire. Arrival on the scene and confirmed the engine compartment of the vehicle on fire. Engine 1131 arrived on scene and the crew stretched a hand line and extinguished the fire. Ladder 1141 arrived on scene and provided a traffic block to protect the crews operating and the ladder crew assisted with overhaul. Tanker 1134 and Engine 1133 also responded and stood by as an additional water source if needed. There were no injuries as the driver was able to pull the vehicle over and safely exit.

Upper Saddle River NJ, Once upon a time in a bucolic community called Upper and Saddle River there was pristinely clean Pleasant Brook meandering among high end properties of circa 200 families that found recluse from the city and noisy suburb. Pleasant Brook is not any just any brook. This historic brook is also a tertiary water tributary that feeds the waters to Saddle River. The community called Saddle River organized under joint 07458 zip code was one of the most affluent communities in the union. It all started to go down the hill in 2017……(tbc.)

Saddle River NJ, its 93° and sunny in Saddle River today. During this scorching heat on July 20th the Saddle River Fire Department has responded to 3 calls, including a vehicle fire on Route 17. A quick response from Saddle River Fire & Saddle River Police resulted in containing the fire to the engine compartment of the vehicle. After this busy morning, the members made a quick stop at Dairy Queen to cool off!

Downed Wire Shuts Down East Saddle River Road Friday Afternoon

Saddle River NJ, according to the Saddle River Fire Department Friday afternoon , the Saddle River FD was requested to E Saddle River Road for a wire down on fire. Asst. Chief 1140, Engine 1131, Engine 1133 and Rescue 1142 responded. Crews shut down the roadway and awaited the arrival of PSEG to secure the power. Engine 1131 extinguished the fire once the power was secured and crews were back in HQ a little after 2.5 hours after dispatch. No injuries reported .
