Englewood Firefighters Assist Mother with New Born at Englewood Health

Englewood NJ, earlier this week, Third Platoon Firefighters responded to Englewood Health for an activated fire alarm. While the members of #Engine 3 were standing by in front of the emergency room entrance, they heard screaming coming from a car. They ran over to find a woman who had just delivered a new born baby. Our firefighters assisted mom while bystanders alerted the ER staff. Happy to report that mom and baby are doing well! Pictured is the crew of E3: Lieutenant Motta, FF Doherty and FF Wilson.

“No to Washington Township DPW”

Twp. of Washington NJ, in march the Ridgewood blog wrote that the Twp. of Washington Department of Public Works may finally have a new home at the site of a former Charlie Brown’s restaurant. A bond ordinance to appropriate $1.35 million to buy 95 Linwood Avenue. was introduced this month. The final hearing for the ordinance will take place at a future council meeting.

Apparently many Paramus and Twp of Washington residents have had just about enough of the massive over development taking place in the Borough and Township and have decided to fight back . A petition is circulating on change.org ( https://www.change.org/p/no-to-wt-dpw )

Ridgewood NJ, Tech entrepreneur Dave Duffield (RHS ‘58), a pioneer who helped shape the software industry and founder of innovative companies including Workday, PeopleSoft and Ridgeline, is giving back to his high school alma mater in support of a substantial STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) Initiative. The Ridgewood High School Alumni Association (RHSAA) presented the Board of Education with a $635,000 gift from the Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation at the regular public meeting on May 10, 2021. This grant, which is the result of the development efforts of the RHSAA, is the largest, single donation awarded to Ridgewood High School in the district’s history.

First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2022 is Invest In Our Planet.

After a vigorous debate over continued us of out door dinning corals ,the Village of Ridgewood celebrated Earth Day by repurposing them using them as a wall for the Village road salt shack.

Body Removed from Hard Castle Pond in New Milford

New Milford NJ, at 7:15pm the New Milford Police Department responded to a 911 call of a male party who went swimming in Hard Castle Pond and did not resurface . The pond is located near Dorchester lane . Officers who responded to the scene were unable to locate the party . The New Milford Fire department and the Office of Emergency Management along with water search teams from Bergen County office of Emergency management and fire departments from surrounding jurisdictions .
