Hasbrouck Heights Fire Responds to Electrical Fire on Church Street

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, at around 8:30 am March 12th, members of the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department responded to Church St for a reported electrical fire. Chief 60 transmitted a 1030 and requested mutual aid from the Wood-Ridge and Carlstadt Fire Departments. Crews stretched into the apartment and found fire in the wall. The fire was quickly extinguished before any extension.No injuries Reported.

Police Officers Injured During Car Fire Rescue in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, while searching for a white colored Dodge Neon reported to be driving erratically on Saddle River Road late Saturday afternoon, 03/16, a Fair Lawn police officer spotted the vehicle driving down a private residential driveway at a high rate of speed, and directly into a heavily wooded area. The vehicle quickly became impaled on a large mulch pile and caught fire.

Hiker Breaks Ankle at Irene Habernickel Family Park in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters used a truck mounted winch to assist in the Saturday morning, 03/16, rescue of an adult male who broke an ankle while hiking in the Irene Habernickel Family Park. The individual was conscious and alert when firefighters arrived on scene, but stranded on a trail located at the bottom of a steep incline. After being extricated from the trail, the victim was loaded into a waiting ambulance and transported to The Valley Hospital. No firefighters were injured during the rescue operation. Ridgewood Police also responded to the incident.

Women Critically Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle at Paramus Public Library

Paramus NJ, an adult female was struck and critically injured early Saturday afternoon, 03/16, at the Paramus Public Library’s East Century Road branch. The victim was rushed by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. Paramus Police are investigating the incident. Photographic evidence collection is being provided by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Identification. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.

Lake Hopatcong NJ, recently, NJ State Trooper I Michael Betz was on his way to the New Jersey State Police Lake Hopatcong substation to complete administrative duties when he noticed a dog stuck out on the ice. Trooper Betz made several attempts to coax the small dog over to the shoreline.
