Grand Opening of the Pedestrian Plaza in Ridgewood’s Central Business District – June 3, 2023

Ridgewood NJ, love it or hate it the Central Business District Pedestrian Plaza is back and will be held every Saturday and Sunday, from June 3rd through October 9th.  All of the streets from Walnut Street to Broad Street, along East Ridgewood Avenue, including the side streets of Oak Street, Chestnut Street, and Prospect Street, will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Opening Day For Graydon Pool In Ridgewood: June 3, 2023 – 11:00 a.m.

Mother With Infant child Escape Serious Injury in Ridgewood Intersection Crash

Ridgewood NJ, a mother and her infant child escaped serious injury when their vehicle collided with another at the intersection of Spring Avenue and South Irving Street, Ridgewood shortly after 11:30 AM on Friday, 06/02. Fortunately, the child was properly restrained into a rear seat mounted car seat at the time of the crash. Ridgewood Fire Department EMTs evaluated the mother and child prior to their release from the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved refused medical aid/evaluation. Ridgewood Fire Department firefighters attended to a minor crash related fluid spill. One (1) crash related summons was issued by investigating Ridgewood Police Patrol Division Officer Peter Youngberg. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and towed from the scene.

Payrolls Rose 339,000 in May, Much Better than Expected

Washington DC ,(8:37am) total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 339,000 in May, and the unemployment rate rose by 0.3 percentage point to 3.7 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
reported today. Job gains occurred in professional and business services, government,
health care, construction, transportation and warehousing, and social assistance.

In the early days of the pandemic, social distancing and stay-at-home orders resulted in a shift away from transportation, restaurant, and entertainment expenditures. Cresskill Intersection Considered The Most Dangerous Crosswalk in Bergen County

Cresskill NJ, according to pedestrian safety activists Frank Geraghty the most dangerous crosswalk in Bergen County is located in Cresskill at Union avenue and Cresskill avenue. Enclosed photo correctly shows a well placed pedestrian warning sign which indicates area where crosswalk should be located with arrow pointing down to exact spot where crosswalk should begin.

SUV Overturns In 3-Vehicle Crash Involving UPS Truck on Route 17 in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ,Traffic on Route 17 northbound through Ridgewood was temporarily restricted to one (1) lane following a Thursday morning, 06/01, three (3) vehicle crash with rollover and entrapment. Ridgewood Police Patrol Division officers freed the driver of a Subaru Forester that rolled over during the collision. A Nissan sedan and a UPS truck were also involved. No injuries were reported by the UPS driver, however the other drivers involved in the mishap sustained minor injuries. Ridgewood Police was assisted at the scene by uniformed officers from Paramus Police  and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office. The Nissan and Subaru were both towed from the scene.
