Ridgewood NJ, CDC continues to study the spread and effects of the novel coronavirus across the United States.  We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms.  This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms.  In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

Dear friends, family and valued customers,

As many of you know this is the third week we have been adamantly providing meals for our health care workers through our own volition.

However It is time for me to listen to my own kids and follow their advice on staying home. When they told me “we only have one parent, you “is when the severity of the situation hit . They gave me no choice.
Now is not the time to risk anything for the sake of my kids.
We decided to shut Lisa’s Mediterranean cuisine for a week.
Thank you all for your continued support during these tough times.
Please take good care of yourself and others in the midst of this unease
With Love always Lisa’s Mediterranean cuisine

Attention Carl Golden and Jose Arango: New Jerseyans can walk and chew gum simultaneously

Joshua Sotomayor Einstein
NJ GOP State Committeeman

The residents of our state are smart and sophisticated enough to applaud success and criticize failure at the same time. New Jerseyans are glad when Governor Phil Murphy directs supplies to help hospitals and first responders during the Wuhan virus crisis. Simultaneously, hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of New Jerseyans are also rightfully enraged when he pursues progressive pet policies under its guise, while failing to propose any meaningful help for middle- and working-class residents from the coming economic pain it has caused. To argue as Carl Golden, a columnist at Insidernj.com has that criticism of Governor Murphy’s policies are “an unforced error,” or as Jose Arango, the do-little chair of the Hudson County Republican Organization, has that doing so is “political grand standards [sic]”, is a pathetic attempt at muzzling the millions of New Jerseyan’s anxious not only about the viral epidemic but whether they will still have a job and be able to afford their bills after it ends.

In every state in America, employers are bound by law to ensure that all workers are provided with a safe environment at work. There are a number of reasons why injuries happen at work and the consequences can range in severity from a minor graze to a fatal incident. Whilst states have different standards with regard to assisting workers after an injury, many workers’ rights are relatively universal across the nation.

April 3, 2020

Dear Ridgewood School Community,

Over the past three weeks, I have received dozens of emails from parents and videos from schools about all of the great experiences our students have been having. Remote learning is undoubtedly different from our regular school day and full activity schedule, and this has demonstrated the significance of our schools and our Village to who we are as a community. I could not start the break without thanking our teachers, administrators, support staff, and custodial/maintenance workers for adapting to these circumstances and performing their roles with dedication and professionalism.
