However, after nearly 90 years of ownership, Gene and Maria Faatz have made the decision to sell the bar. This transition was announced on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Paramus NJ, Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Consumer Affairs (“the Division”) announced today that a now-defunct New Jersey cosmetology school and its related entities have agreed to pay nearly $640,000 – a majority of which will be used for consumer restitution – to resolve the State’s lawsuit alleging they defrauded students and engaged in substandard business practices that financially harmed students. In a separate settlement with the State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling (“the Board”), the school also agreed to surrender its licenses to operate in New Jersey.

Always seen chaperoning our LEAD – Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence events and rescuing animals throughout his career. Over the years the Ridgewood blog has profiled Sgt. Paramus NJ, an early Saturday afternoon, 11/04, structure fire in the 300 block of Willard Road began in a microwave oven, and extended to kitchen cabinets and the home’s roof before Paramus FD firefighters gained complete control of it. An elderly resident of the home was reportedly rescued by a neighbor as the structure filled with smoke. Paramus EMTs evaluated the evacuee on the front lawn of a nearby home; it is uncertain if he was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Oradell firefighters assisted Paramus Fire Department at the scene.
Paramus NJ, more trees in the news, hearings for the temple on Spring Valley Road in Paramus, are set to continue on November 9, with growing public attention focused on a reported 300-year-old tree that may be removed if the expansion plan proceeds. The Paramus Board of Adjustment will convene at East Brook Middle School to discuss the proposed expansion of the Swaminarayan Gurukul Cultural Center at 195, 199, and 205 Spring Valley Road. Concerns about the removal of the tree have been expressed by the public, and the matter was discussed in a public hearing held on October 26.
Paramus NJ, the driver of a Nissan Kicks subcompact SUV was transported by a Paramus EMS ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus following an early Friday morning, 10/27, crash in which the Nissan slammed head on into a school bus at the intersection of East Midland Avenue and From Road, Paramus. There were no students on the Bergenfield Board of Education owned bus at the time and the bus driver was uninjured. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by tow trucks. Paramus Fire Department Engine Company #1 attended to a crash related fluid spill. The Nissan’s driver sustained a non life threatening facial injury. Schools open drive carefully .
Paramus NJ, Barnes & Noble in Paramus has announced the official opening date for its new location. The bookstore will open its doors on Black Friday, November 24th, at 634 Route 17 North. This reopening comes eight months after the closure of its former location, which had been in operation for 30 years. The ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. will be attended by Joseph Simmons, also known as DJ Run from Run-DMC, and Harlan Coben, an author and Ridgewood resident. Janine Flanigan, the chain’s senior director of store planning & design, confirmed the date and mentioned that the new one-story space, spanning 35,000 square feet, will be comparable to the previous two-story building located just a mile to the north on Route 17.

Paramus NJ, the renowned Alexander’s mural, which had been removed from Paramus 25 years ago, is now finding a new home at The Valley Hospital’s new campus. The mural’s panels were unpacked on a Tuesday morning, with installation in the hospital’s garden scheduled to commence the following day, as confirmed by Erin Blake, Valley’s manager for external communications. The installation process, involving over two dozen panels, will extend throughout the month and is expected to be completed on or before October 27. This homecoming of the iconic mural signifies its return to the local landscape, evoking nostalgia and celebrating its historical significance.
Paramus NJ, a two (2) vehicle, early afternoon Friday the 13th rollover crash at the intersection of Paramus Road and Starling Court, Paramus temporarily closed Paramus Road in both directions at the crash site. One (1) individual was transported by Paramus EMS to Hackensack University Medical Center with unspecified injuries. Paramus Police Emergency Services Unit officers righted the KIA SUV that had rolled over after being T-boned by a Honda Pilot. A flatbed tow truck removed both heavily damaged vehicles from the scene.
Paramus NJ, No injuries were reported in connection with an early Tuesday afternoon, 10/10, motor vehicle crash in which an elongated, flatbed tractor-trailer knocked down a traffic control signal at the intersection of A&S Drive and Winters Avenue, Paramus. Paramus Police Emergency Services officers assisted the Borough’s Department of Public Works staff in the safe removal of the device from the truck’s bed.

Paramus NJ, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center cut the ribbon on its skilled trade apprenticeship facility, celebrating the partnership between the hospital and the Bergen County Technical Schools (BCTS). The Medical Center places students who have completed the relevant coursework through BCTS into apprenticeships with licensed mentors who are plumbers, HVAC technicians, and electricians. The hospital is currently hosting three apprentices.
