Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Crew took on a 3,200 meter head course at Overpeck Creek for the annual Fall Classic, hosted by Montclair High School Rowing on October 16, 2022. Thirty-four clubs participated with teams ranging from juniors to masters. Ridgewood Crew participated with 20 entries of Ridgewood High School athletes. Seven Gold Medals, Three Silver and Two Bronze Medals. Head Coach Boris Roque Alvarez was pleased with the team’s performance.

The theme for this year’s conference, “Tools for Schools to Keep our Students Safe: An Update on School Safety Strategies and Drug Trends” will focus on school safety and drug prevention strategies. Princeton NJ, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the Department of Public Safety have announced that Misrach Ewunetie’s body was found on Princeton University campus earlier Thursday. An autopsy will determine her cause of death, but they said there were “no obvious signs of injury and her death does not appear suspicious or criminal in nature.”
Ridgewood NJ, the Biden administration officially launched its student debt relief application on Monday, ending months of anticipation from millions of American borrowers. The debt forgiveness website, which was first released by the administration for beta testing on Friday, features what officials have argued is a relatively simple application process. President Biden announced his plan for student loan debt relief in August forgiving $10,000 in student loan debt for those making under $125,000 annually and $20,000 for Pell grant recipients.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Duffield STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) Initiative on Saturday, October 8, 2022. The School Transition & Employment Program for Student Success (STEPSS) hosted a well-attended Open House on Friday, October 14, 2022. The district plans to continue to host on-site paraprofessional job fairs. The late start committee meetings will get underway to develop a plan to submit to the Board. New Jersey has some new mental health grants, and the district is exploring opportunities for new mental health initiatives.
