Ridgewood NJ, a late Monday afternoon, 06/27, dispute on a Greyhound bus heading southbound on Route 17 in Ridgewood, during which an adult male passenger allegedly threatened another man with a handgun, resulted in the arrest of an individual who was reportedly wanted in New York State for failure to pay child support. Several Ridgewood Police Patrol Officers and a pair of New Jersey State Police Troopers responded to the incident. Although a thorough body search of the person taken into custody by State Troopers, and a search of the bus, failed to produce a weapon, it is not known whether the detainee’s seized luggage was also searched at the scene, or whether such a search required a warrant.
