Reader answers “Is this the same Steve Lonegan that was one of the most anti-Trump people during the campaign?”

"Steve" Lonegan

“Is this the same Steve Lonegan that was one of the most anti-Trump people during the campaign?”
Yes… but not what you seem to be implying.
.
Lonegan was pro Ted Cruz (that’s why he was “against” Trump), Now that Trump is in he fully supports him even though Trump wasn’t his first choice in the primaries.
Lonegan is a solid guy if you believe in Republican values like tax cutting, etc and he aligns with Trumps agenda.
.
If you are a supporter of the Trump agenda (which it seems like you are) then a Lonegan victory would help implement it.
If you are a McCain, McConnel, Murkowski, Graham, Flake type Republican then Lonegan might not be for you in the primary.
If you are a Democrat then it does not matter who the Republicans put up since you’ll be voting “D” anyway…

County Sheriff Sued Over Contamination at the Bergen County Police Academy Gun Range

Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino

Mahwah NJ, the Bergen Record reports (https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/bergen/2018/01/10/suit-bergen-knew-gun-range-site-contaminated-squashed-probe/1016898001/ ) a lawsuit claims that not only did county officials know about the contamination at the Bergen County Police Academy gun range, but that they actively squashed an investigation into alleged crimes by those who led the dumping.

The law suit alleges the famed “double dipper” and “party changer” Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino retaliated against Frank Carrafiello and other officers who investigated the soil remediation project. The suit names not only Saudino, but the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office , the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Bergen county government .

The suit claims that Sheriff Saudino demoted officers, forced others to retire and changed the assignments of those officers who investigated the remediation.

The New Jersey Sierra Club and Mahwah officials outlined the contamination at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute. They also said the county allegedly announced lead bullet casing and other potentially toxic materials to be dumped on the site for about a year.

Jeff Tittel, executive director of the Sierra Club, said the materials oxidized and broke down, possibly seeping into the groundwater and nearby streams, the Ramapo River and the Ramapo Aquifer, which provides drinking water to thousands of people.

A Bergen County spokeswoman claims in April that County Executive James Tedesco’s administration “took swift and immediate action upon learning of the potential environmental issue at the Law and Public Safety Institute shooting range located in Mahwah.”

Former Bergen County Executive Fights Internet Defamation Suit

Bergen County Executive Democrat Dennis McNerney

November 11,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Hackensack NJ, Public Relations Executive Alan Marcus is suing former Bergen County Executive Democrat Dennis McNerney for $16 million alleging defamation, invasion of privacy and false light, punitive damages and computer related offenses

The lawsuit alleges that McNerney and his wife, Cathy, used 27 internet aliases to post 88 comments under articles that alleged that Marcus committed bribery, fraud, blackmail and exchanged county contracts for sex.

This is the same type of strategy used on this blog by certain elements of Ridgewood and was orchestrated against former Mayor Kieth Killion and Ken Gabbert  and is currently being used to undermine our current mayor Susan Knudsen .

Attorneys for McNerney claim that the comments were fair comment on political issues of public importance. Marcus was a campaign manager, headed the transition team and was an unpaid advisor for Kathe Donovan, who succeeded McNerney as County Executive.

An attorney for McNerney says that during Donovan’s tenure, Marcus was investigated by federal prosecutors who subpoenaed documents concerning his public relations contract with Bergen Community College. Marcus withdrew from the gig when it received public criticism. Marcus was also the spokeman for Triple Five the latest developer for the American Dream Meadowlands project, formerly known as Xanadu.

Marcus’ attorney, Joseph B. Fiorenzo  said that McNerney had admitted in an emailed document that his intent was to “scandalize … Alan Marcus.” and went on ,”Rarely has a defendant’s actual malice been set forth so plainly and clearly,”

The plan worked, Marcus’ attorney said, by abusing the anonymity of the internet McNerney “created an army of fictitious users from all walks of life; Republicans, Democrats, men, women and people from all of Bergen County to interact and conspire to level specious claims of criminality against Marcus and convince others of the truth of the allegations.”

Ridgewood NJ, perhaps they forgot , but suddenly the New York Times omits party affiliation in article of ethically challenged New Jersey Democratic Senator Bob Menendez. The Times wrote a story that was 30 paragraphs and 1288 words yet amazingly the one word the was missing was DEMOCRAT.

Menendez 63, faces 12 charges stemming from accusations that he traded political influence for lavish gifts from Florida ophthalmologist Dr. Salomon Melgen. Menendez initially didn’t report the gifts included private flights and vacations. Melgen also donated $750,000 directly and indirectly to Menendez political campaigns. Dr. Salomon Melgen, a Florida eye doctor was found guilty of Medicare fraud.

Assemblywomen Takes Issue with NJEA endorsements

Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi took issues with NJEA endorsements yesterday and took to Facebook to make her displeasure known .

Schepisi said,“I find it fascinating that the NJEA, an organization funded primarily by female members, did not endorse one female incumbent Republican in the entire legislature. For my friends and constituents who are teachers, I have always supported teachers and I always will regardless of endorsements received or not received. I am a proud product of a public school education and the first female in my family to graduate with a college degree. I am the only female legislator currently representing any portion of Bergen County with children attending public schools. Volunteering as “teacher for the day” in many of our area schools has helped me to understand the challenges and rewards of teaching. So today I thank all of our teachers for their services provided to our children.”

Ridgewood NJ, A great big shout out to Senator Bob Gordon, Assemblymen Tim Eustace and Joe Lagana, for voting YES for the gas tax. There’s going to be lots of pain at them pump because of them.

Motorists are seeing sharply higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey. According to AAA Mid-Atlantic the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.43. That’s up 7 cents from last week.

Motorists were paying $1.92 for gas at this time last year. A 23-cents-per-gallon gas tax increase went into effect Nov. 1.

This now marks the fourth straight week that gas prices have risen in the state of New Jersey and New Jersey is now out pacing the national average gas price on Friday $2.34, up 4 cents from last week.

With pro-Palestinian vote, Cory Booker betrays vulnerable Jews

BY RABBI SHMULEY BOTEACH, OPINION CONTRIBUTOR – 08/04/17 04:40 PM EDT

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted Friday to halt U.S. taxpayer funding for the Palestinian Authority so long as it persists in the “pay-to-slay” policy whereby jailed terrorists and relatives of suicide bombers and other murderers receive salaries.

This heinous policy of rewarding killers and providing incentives for other Palestinians to attack Jews has been effectively subsidized by the United States for years. Shockingly, my good friend Cory Booker was one of only four senators to vote against the bipartisan Taylor Force Act.

Cory and I already had a serious public disagreement when he failed to stand on principle and oppose the catastrophic nuclear deal with Iran. I felt that surely the threat of genocide directed at Israel and the Jewish people would move him to oppose the funding of a government sworn to Israel’s annihilation.

Democrat Congressman Josh Gottheimer host Roundtable in Support of the Corrupt Export-Import Bank

money-down-the-toilet-zaw2

August 1,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Hillsdale NJ, we have to laugh Congressman Josh Gottheimer gathered local business leaders for a roundtable on the Export-Import Bank with Former Chairman and President of the Export-Import Bank, Fred Hochberg. Hosted by Fornazor International, Inc., the group shared Export-Import Bank success stories and discussed ways that small- and medium-sized New Jersey manufacturers can leverage the opportunities afforded by the bank to expand their businesses .

Perhaps no one told Congressman Gottheimer that the Export-Import Bank is one of the most corrupt organizations in Washington and often referred  as nothing more than corporate welfare .

A Gottheimer press release In New Jersey, this program has supported, $4,039,300,000 in exports, 25,811 jobs, and 219 companies — without costing the Treasury a single nickel. Congressman Gottheimer views Ex-Im as a great return on investment for the district, state, and country.

The reality is far different the Export Import Bank is nothing but corrupt corporate welfare. The 81-year old, government agency, the Export Import Bank cost taxpayers millions of dollars each year and it overwhelmingly benefitted big corporations and big banks. (Beware, incompetent government protocols allow for wild variations in costs). Recently, 42 Republicans and 176 Democrats forced a vote in the House of Representatives to reauthorize the bank.

Originally, the Export Import Bank (ExIm) was created in the 1930’s to assist small businesses unable to acquire private, bank loans. In 2012, Boeing received 83% of its loan guarantees through the Export Import Bank. Not to mention, Chase, Citibank and other big banks are essentially receiving risk-free loans from our government bank. What happened? Inevitably, a government subsidy attracts big businesses with powerful lobbyists to convert the program to their advantage. This happened and was the reason small government conservatives demanded an end to the ImEx.

Thus, upon losing their enormous government subsidies, big businesses and well-paid lobbyists are working hard to convince Members of Congress to reauthorize and fund the bank. According to Veronique de Rugy of the Mercatus Center, between 2007 and 2013 the Bank subsidized:

· $66.7 billion in sales by Boeing

· $8.3 billion for General Electric

· $5.2 billion for Bechtel

· $4.9 billion for Caterpillar and its subsidiary Solar Turbine

· $3.2 billion for CBI Americas

· $3.0 for Exxon Mobil

· $2.1 billion for Applied Materials

· $2.0 billion for Westinghouse

· $1.4 billion for Noble Drilling

In 2014 the left of center  “HILL”  wrote a very critical article on the banks dealings with Russia and what it called rampant fraud at the bank, ”  In late July, the bank scrambled to halt their dealings with Russian companies, a week after the awkward news that the Obama administration had sanctioned some of the Bank’s previous Russian “customers” with close ties to Vladimir Putin.

Around the same time, the bank’s president, Fred Hochberg, was hauled before Congress to address concerns about rampant fraud at his institution after three employees were dismissed following allegations of corruption.  Also called to testify was Johnny Gutierrez, himself one of the recently-dismissed bank officials.  Gutierrez pled the Fifth Amendment and Hochberg’s testimony was less than illuminating.  In addition, a recent report in The Daily Caller found several instances of conflicts of interest among members of the bank’s own advisory committee.”

The Export-Import Bank is backed by powerful corporate interests and corrupt politicians who make a living off of all the dirty deals .

Democrats Again Block Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi’s Attempt to Stop over development Due to court-mandated housing requirements

Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi

August 1,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, For the second time in 28 days Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi’s attempt to get the State Assembly to relieve municipalities from over development arising from court-mandated housing requirements was denied.

The court mandated over development endangers Bergen County quality of life  and will require many towns to build unneeded housing in a state with a declining population .

Schepisi said , “I’m very disappointed that the speaker again blocked my efforts to relieve municipalities of this incredible burden. The only roadblock helping our communities is Democrats’ continued refusal to take action,”

Earlier  Schepisi asked Speaker Vincent Prieto to post her bill package addressing court-mandated affordable housing before today’s special voting session, but was again denied.

From the Assembly floor at 1 a.m. on July 4, Schepisi urged the legislature to suspend all affordable housing litigation until the end of the year so the legislature could address the issue. Her effort was voted down 44-26 along party lines.

“This is a bipartisan issue that has turned into a potential disaster for our towns and our constituents. Just ask the mayors from Democratic towns outside of my district who have asked me for help instead of their own local Democrat legislator,” continued Schepisi (R-Bergen).

“Maybe Democrats aren’t listening to their mayors, councils and constituents because Phil Murphy funds the non-profit suing our communities and forcing unwanted development. It’s not what is best for towns, our environment and our schools; it’s what is best for their party.”

On June 19 Schepisi introduced an eight bill package shifting all municipal obligations to the state and recalculate obligations based on reasonable need. It also makes changes to how affordable housing is administered to best help communities.

“I have introduced a package that addresses all of the concerns I have heard from mayors on both sides of the aisle. And it ensures that affordable housing will be built to accommodate the needs of the residents of this state,” concluded Schepisi.

Schepisi’s affordable housing package includes:
• Amending the state constitution to require the state calculate affordable housing obligations (ACR250).
• Increasing the numbers of senior and special needs housing that can count towards the affordable housing obligations in the State.
• Requiring COAH and Courts to take into account environmental considerations, municipal infrastructure, school and emergency services department capacities
• Allowing municipalities to provide preference to their own residents in need of affordable housing
• Requiring COAH to administer affordable housing obligations (A5025).
• Allowing municipalities to challenge obligations administered by COAH (A5026).
• Requiring COAH calculate obligations based on reasonable need factors and imposing a population increase cap (A5027/A5028).
• Eliminating the exclusion of urban aid municipalities from obligations (A5029).
• Amending the state constitution to prohibit exclusionary zoning and clarify municipal affordable housing obligations (ACR249).
• Prohibiting the builder’s remedy in exclusionary zoning litigation (A5030).

Phil Murphy Funding the Over Development Push in New Jersey

phill murphy over developement
July 29,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, no surprise here that state Democrats are funding over building in Bergen County and looking to destroy the quality of life ,turning the county into another borough of Manhattan .

“Anyone who follows me knows I have been fighting to bring rational discussion to the over development crisis impacting most of our communities. As a result I have been labeled a racist, xenophobe and a whole host of awful and untrue things by a non profit organization Fair Share Housing Development. Imagine my surprise today when I saw that their top donor list includes gubernatorial candidate Phil Murphy! And we wonder why our communities are receiving no help from their representatives in Trenton.” , Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi .

In Ridgewood this blog has long warned of over development , even warning residents to not vote for  a Hudson County Mayor .
Unfortunately the warnings went unheeded and after the “3 amigos ” reign of terror in the Village is now faced with 4 major high density housing developments  that will deplete the Village of Resources , pressure water, sewer, fire ,police and education as well as lower property values  and increase tax rates.

Reader says there has been a strategic move by the DNC in the last 10-20 years to build an election-winning bloc of various special interest groups

joanne-chesimard
It’s clear that there has been a strategic move by the DNC in the last 10-20 years or so to build an election-winning bloc of various special interest groups. There’s the traditional blue collar workers, public employees, aging hippies, minorities, LGBT, millennials, and just about every other kind of person who feels bullied, disenfranchised, weird, out-of-the-mainstream, etc. This collective mixture makes up a pretty formidable size. They all tend to be highly advanced in terms on making noise and organizing, very much so in the Internet age. However, it’s very much a united we stand divided we fall approach. In other words, they all have to support each others agendas. This is where the support for the radicals who killed and bombed in the name of the cause back in the day. Off on a tangent now, but the reason Trump won is because this cabal of Democrats got way too powerful on the side of the angry vegans and open borders nuts, that they lost the traditional support of the blue collar folks.

Reader says Democrats, support terrorist and cop killers in varying degrees of enthusiasm

Joanne_Chesimard_20130503054348_320_240

It appears to be a case of the support for this killer having morphed from a relatively small number of radical lefties, to the overall umbrella of the Democrat Party. I’m sure there are a few that don’t support her, but I suspect if you asked most Democrats, they would support her in varying degrees of enthusiasm.

Groups who want the public to believe they ‘do good works’ supports a murderer………….. well, that kind of kills the do-good mantra now doesn’t it? We as a society have reached critical mass – murderers are supported, hard working tax payers who want to keep more of their take home pay ridiculed, people who are able but don’t work coddled and given every benefit to scam the system, illegal immigrants given equivalent rights to citizens – these are just a few issues, but they speak to the bizarre world we now live in.

Also, Democrats honored the Puerto Rican terrorist who led the terrorist attacks that killed many in NYC, including a man whose son now live in Glen Rock.

The same terrorist whose sentence Barack Obama commuted in his final days as President. The same terrorist who still refuses to express any remorse for him terrorist activities.

Paul DiGaetano BCRO Chairman Calls Out New Jersey Democratic Consultant Jim Devine on Violence

Statement Condemning New Jersey Democratic Consultant Jim Devine

Our nation suffered yesterday as members of Congress were targeted and shot for political ideology.  While Republican and Democrat leaders condemned this atrocious act Jim Devine, former Political Director of the State Democrat Party, turned this tragedy into a political football.

Devine used his social media platform to further divide our nation.  He did so by tweeting “#HuntRepublicanCongressman” and “#HuntRepublicans”.  Mr. Devine’s poor and incendiary decision to inflame the political rhetoric on social media is disturbing.  The hate in this nation cannot and will not be healed unless, and until, the rhetoric of painting an opposing political party as evil is condemned.  As a nation, we must come together.

On James Devine’s personal website, he claims he is “Outspoken and daring in defense of American Principles”.  Devine clearly does not understand nor hold American principles. He insulted the families of the wounded and our nation.  America did not become the world’s beacon of freedom by trying to silence another’s views.  This nation has thrived through a multiple-party system and continues to do so today.  Not only does Devine not represent America’s values, he offends them.  All New Jersey leaders, whether Republican or Democrat, should condemn his illicit and outrageous commentary.

The delusions of anyone who believes it is a constitutional right to murder, or attempt to murder elected officials, their staff, or the police who protect them, should have no role in NJ politics or government.

Let us never forget, we are one.

Reader Points Out Rainbow Flag Opens a Can of Worms

WALLACE

If the Ridgewood chapter of the Confederate States of America Historical Society were to have their petition to fly their organization’s flag (the Stars and Bars battle flag) turned down, they would sue, successfully, and for plenty of money. If they received approval and their flag were raised over Van Neste Square, George Soros and his highly paid ninja-clad Antifa rioters would reduce Ridgewood to rubble in the space of three days. Village Council, you have brought this circumstance about by your foolishness and incapacity to ask your hired legal gun the right combination of questions. What are we to do with you? Send all five of you to a remedial Muni Law workshop in Atlantic City for the weekend? The Mayor and Deputy Mayor, up for re-election next year, need to get religion (small “r”) pronto.

Reader says This is straight out of the DNCC playbook

gay flag

This is straight out of the DNCC playbook. When they could not get Scott Garrett any other way, they painted him as a homophobe and won.

Likewise, they are trying to get at this Village Council through the homophobe route, given that their other attempts have failed. It is a tried and tested strategy. The village is increasingly populated by ‘progressives’ who are ready to ignore all other issues as long as you somehow accuse one side of ‘homophobia’ – not matter how absurd the premise.

This entire move is very well choreographed by Hackensack. Expect accusations of homophobia and bigotry (with reference to the referenced article) to feature prominently in the next council election.

And expect the unthinking sheep to fall in line. Council robbing the taxpayers blind and selling the village to developers – who cares? They will fly the rainbow flag!!!!
