Anti-Semitic Messages Deface Glen Rock Starbucks

Glen Rock NJ, at 8:05 AM Monday morning the manager of the Starbucks located at 224 Rock Road in Glen Rock’s Central Business District reported red paint was splashed over the sign at the corner of Rock Road and Glen Avenue. The responding officer also found stickers placed on the sign with messages related to the Middle East conflict. It is believed that the act occurred in the early morning hours prior to the opening of the store.

Driver Ends Night in Police Custody after Glen Rock Crash

Glen Rock NJ, while in police custody for alleged DUI, the driver of white colored SUV was transported by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a Monday evening, 12/04, crash in the 600 block of Harristown Road, Glen Rock. Police allege that at approximately 6:15 PM, the driver stuck a utility pole prior to slamming head on into a Borough owned tree and coming to rest. There were no passengers in the SUV when it crashed. A tow truck was dispatched to remove the heavily damaged vehicle from the roadway. Harristown Road was temporarily closed between Berkeley Place and Ridge Road while emergency crews worked.

Homeowner Sustained Minor Burns in Glen Rock House Fire

Glen Rock NJ,an early Monday afternoon, 11/20, fire, ignited when a Glen Rock homeowner was working with tools in a second floor bedroom, was extinguished prior to the arrival of firefighters from Ridgewood, Glen Rock, and Hawthorne. The homeowner sustained minor burns to his hand and self-transported to The Valley Hospital for treatment. Fire chiefs from Fair Lawn also responded to the incident.

Tractor Trailer Sails Through Stop Sign Hits Sedan Sends Two to Hackensack Medical Center in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, the driver of a tractor trailer allegedly disregarded a stop sign while exiting Route 208 southbound at Harristown Road, Glen Rock on Friday evening, 11/03, and collided with  a sedan carrying at least three (3) occupants. Glen Rock EMS reported three (3) injuries at the scene, with two (2) victims requiring ambulance transportation to Hackensack University Center’s main campus. The wrecked sedan was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Fair Lawn Police assisted Glen Rock Police with traffic control.

The Cause of the Small Fire is Being Investigated at Alexander Hamilton School in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, gathered “early arrival” students were safely evacuated from the Alexander Hamilton School, located at 380 Harristown Road in Glen Rock, after a ceiling fire was reported at approximately 0830 hours on Wednesday morning, 10/18. The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries to students, staff members, or first responders were reported. The cause of the small fire was being investigated. Glen Rock Fire Department was assisted at the scene by mutual aid fire departments from several nearby communities.

UPDATE: Mysterious Substance Spill Leads to Early Closing of the Glen Rock Middle School and Glen Rock High School

Glen Rock NJ, on Monday morning, 10/02, chemical spill inside of the Glen Rock Middle School and High School forced school administrators to dismiss all students at 12 noon, and to order the cancellation of all programs scheduled to take place at the facility on Monday afternoon and evening. Emergency responders at the scene were tight lipped as to what spilled, but school officials did say the incident happened in an office area. An individual was said to have been transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital, but no confirmation of this report was available on scene. Vehicles from multiple public safety agencies were seen parked in front of the school building for hours.

Prowler Flees as Glen Rock Resident Hits the Lights

Glen Rock NJ, on September 21st at 6:06 AM an Emerson Road resident reported to the Glen Rock Police Department a prowler, dressed in a light-colored hoodie, in their driveway near their vehicles.  The resident turned on lights both inside and outside of their home.  When they did this, a light-colored sedan in the street honked its horn.  The individual in their driveway then ran to the vehicle which fled the area on Belmont Road towards Harristown Road prior to police being notified.

Glen Rock Police Search for Three Males Ringing Doorbells and Banging on Doors in the Early Morning Hours

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police Department has had several reports of three males ringing doorbells and banging on doors around 0230 hrs. on August 10. We are aware of a similar incident with the same suspects that was posted on social media today as well. In one incident, a resident reported that their storm door was broken and damaged. Saddle River NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of STEVEN RUGELES (DOB: 01/06/1993; married; unemployed) of 1204 Fairmount Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ; SANTIAGO CAMARGO-ROJAS (DOB: 05/03/1999; single; unemployed) of 738 Seaport Drive, Elizabeth, NJ; and NICHOLAS BUITRAGO-GRILLO (DOB: 2/01/2000; single; unemployed) of 738 Seaport Drive, Elizabeth, NJ on charges of conspiracy to commit burglary, money laundering, receiving stolen property, possession of false government documents and possession of burglar tools. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and several other Bergen County police departments.

False Alarm Sends Ridgewood High School into “lockdown”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School was placed into “lockdown” status late Monday morning, 04/17, following receipt of a 911 telephone call reporting the presence of an armed individual wishing to do harm located in the school’s student cafeteria. Ridgewood Police officers rushed to the scene and thoroughly searched the building with the assistance of several nearby police departments; everything was found be in order. Ridgewood Fire department and EMS personnel were on standby outside of the building as a precaution. An investigation of the 911 telephone report’s origin is now underway.

Vehicle was Towed from the Scene in Glen Rock After Trunk Fire

Glen Rock  NJ, a smokey Thursday afternoon, 04/06, fire consumed a Toyota Prius on Rock Road near Isabella Place in Glen Rock. The fire, which reportedly originated in the vehicle’s trunk, was extinguished by Glen Rock firefighters with overhaul assistance provided by Fair Lawn Fire Company #4. Glen Rock Police provided traffic control. The damaged vehicle was towed from the scene.

Paterson Man Charged in Fatal Hit and Run in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of DAVID ROMERO (DOB: 11/22/1998; single; factory worker) of 594 E. 39th Street, Paterson, NJ for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death, endangering an injured victim, and hindering apprehension. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Glen Rock Police Department under the direction of Chief Dean Ackermann.
