Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy vetoed a bill on Monday that he says would have allowed New Jersey bars and restaurants more freedom while operating outside amid the coronavirus pandemic. The bill would have permitted owners and operators of restaurants, bars, distilleries and breweries to continue to utilize outdoor spaces or public sidewalks as extensions of their business premises, Murphy said.

15-MINUTE COMPLIMENTARY PARKING SPACES IN RIDGEWOOD’s CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

Ridgewood NJ, The Central Business District has several 15-minute complimentary parking spaces on Oak Street, Chestnut Street, North Broad Street, off of East Ridgewood Avenue, and Wilsey Square on the west side.  These parking spaces are limited to 15 minutes only, are free of charge to everyone, and are to be used to do a quick errand or pick up food or visit a business.  Please be advised that if you are parked in these spaces longer than 15 minutes, you may receive a parking summons.  These spaces have been generously sponsored by several local businesses, which are acknowledged on the 15-minute parking signs.  We encourage you to stay longer in the Central Business District by parking in one of our many lots or the Hudson Street parking garage (at $1/hour), and there is also on-street parking available (at $1.25/hour).

Ridgewood NJ, The Hudson Street Garage first level parking is open.  The days/hours when payment is required at the garage are:  Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Sundays are free of charge.  There is no overnight parking in the garage.  There is a 3-hour limit, and the charge is $1.00/hour.  The kiosk for the Hudson Street garage is located at the entrance to the Hudson Street Garage.

The Hudson Street Garage can be accessed from Prospect St. or Dayton St. to Hudson St.  Conveniently located, the garage is adjacent to many stores, restaurants, salons, and services.  It is also a quick, fun, and scenic walk to the west side shops and eateries using the pedestrian tunnel under the railroad tracks.

Ridgewood NJ,  Three New Jersey industry leaders spoke with Assemblyman Brian Bergen Thursday about what is and isn’t working for restaurants during the coronavirus pandemic.  The conversation took place through a Facebook Live event that streamed on the NJ Assembly GOP’s Facebook page.

Gov. Phil Murphy initially closed all New Jersey bars and restaurants for eat-in service on March 16 limiting service for takeout and delivery orders only.  On June 15, he allowed restaurants to offer outdoor dining but rolled back plans for indoor dining at 25 percent in early July.

Governor Phil Murphy Signs Executive Order Limiting Travel and Requiring Masks

Ridgewoood NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 125, imposing additional mitigation requirements on NJ TRANSIT and all private carriers to limit the spread of COVID-19. The order also outlines specific policies on restaurants that have remained open for takeout orders.

“We must continue our commitment to do everything we can to flatten the curve and defeat this virus,” said Governor Murphy.  “With these additional requirements, we are aggressively reducing the spread of the virus to protect New Jersey residents.”

Ridgewood NJ , Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon M Hache said on Facebook, “We are making several parking spaces in front of each restaurant available for take-out orders only, with no need to pay for parking. Temporary signs are being placed on the poles today, and more permanent signs will be posted within the next couple of days.”

Trump Rally Economic Boom for Wildwood

Wildwood NJ, The unintended consequences of the Trump rally that you won’t hear in the liberal New Jersey media.

The restaurant I went to on both Monday and Tuesday was ecstatic about the rally. The owner was wearing a Trump pin and said she was a Trump supporter and even more so now after this week. The restaurant was packed solid for two nights and brought a much needed “shot in the arm” during the winter dull-drums. The waitstaff couldn’t be happier. Many hotels also were booked solid. A boom to Wildwoods Economy at a time they need it most.
