Reader says Aronsohn and cronies were selling out the village we love to the highest bidder

Ramon, Bernie and Jeff won because we WERE concerned about what was going on at Village Hall. We resoundingly voted for change. Too bad Jeff isn’t shaping up to be the man we expected. Aronsohn and cronies were selling out the village we love to the highest bidder. The current council is still trying to undue the damage, but it is already too late for some of it. We also said no to the garage and that is somehow back in play again.

Reader calls out Aronsohn Troll of Ridgewood blog

troll

if you aren’t Aronsohn or Aronsohn based, I’d be very surprised. Municipal tax is as low as they could make it. Everybody forgets that our real money is poured into the school system with its bizarrely bloated budget (BBB at the BOE–can I sell the T-shirts?).

CRAB should be disbanded IMMEDIATELY (as should the horrific Financial Advisory Committee). Both, like other groups, are entirely controlled by Aronsohn. He came to town not all that long ago and saw us as a big sitting duck. He has been carving us up ever since. Could not do it without the help of a tremendous number of misinformed, misguided sycophants.

Reader says Jeff Voigt and Evan Weitz have made repeated attempts to assassinate the character of Mayor Knudsen

Village Council

Jeff Voigt and Evan Weitz have made repeated attempts to assassinate the character of Mayor Knudsen. Along with the help of Paul Aronsohn, Roberta Sonenfeld, and Jan Civility Phillips. Fortunately, the Mayor is above board and beyond reproach, so their repeated volleys of verbal munitions have simply bounced off the mayor. And they have bounced right back to the low life small minded Voigt crew and they are starting to be seen for their true tainted colors.

Reader says Voigt is a terrrible disappointment

Jeff Voigt

Voigt is a terrrible disappointment. As one who had a coffee for him at my house and I donated $$ to his campaign, I really thought he was the real deal, honest, forthright, and independent. Was I ever wrong. He has a terrible temper, which he cannot even control on the dais. Aronsohn was able to keep his temper under control in public but would go wild in private. Hauck and Pucciarelli, like Voigt, would go off in public whenever the felt wronged. A temper is not a character flaw, but it becomes one when a public official interrupts meetings with his tantrums and then goes after the ever-pleasant Heather Mailander. Moving on from his temper, we have his vindictiveness. For reasons that I do not understand, Voigt despises our mayor. I mean he hates her guts. For a period of time he refused to call her Mayor Knudsen, such a grown-up that he is (not). This level of animosity is not helpful to anyone in town. Then you have his dishonesty and underhandedness. He lied at the meeting on Wednesday, as plain as day, said he never saw an email from susan and then got pissed off when it was revealed that he forwarded it to the editor of the newspaper. Someone said he is entitled to write a letter, and I for sure agree with this. But his letter contained a major error about whether the flag could fly on any town property, when it was clearly stated by Mr. Rogers that it could fly in Van Neste. And then there is his out and out stupidity. thinking that he could write all sorts of slanderous things on company email and keep them private. DUH. And instead of being mad at himself for doing this, he gets mad at Susan and Heather for revealing them and then starts blaming everyone in sight.

Ridgewood Library closed for Mother’s and Father’s Days

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Why does the Ridgewood Library have to close on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day? The BCCLS site doesn’t even list those days as library holidays, and they certainly are not. On the Ridgewood Library’s own website, it says May 14th/Sunday/MOTHER’S DAY and June 18th/Sunday/FATHER’S DAY (Maroons Soccer Tournament).” (Actually, it says “Maroon’s”–sadly illiterate for a library. There is only one Maroon?)

What’s the connection–the library has to close because it is ceding the entire parking lot to attendees at a sports event? Does everybody in town care about sports AT ALL? I assure you, they do not.

Here’s the link. It says 2016, but the listings on the page are correct for this year. Somebody failed to update the URL.

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Spring has traditionally been known as the time to clean house and get a fresh and clean start. I like to include the body in spring cleaning as well.

It’s the season we should feel like eating light detoxifying food that will uplift our energy. Eating more nutrient-packed raw plant based vegan meals that clean the body from the fat that was accumulated during the winter time is what we should be doing.

I would like to inspire you to cook tasty and healthy meals at home on a daily basis. My goal is to explain the principles of detox cooking and will demonstrate how to cook 5 different dishes that are all delicious, nutritious and that anyone can easily prepare at home.

At the end of the class you will eat the dishes that were prepared and I will provide a print out with all the recipes.

Class will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2017
Place: Allergy Free and More
555 Goffle Road
Ridgewood, NJ

Heavy Rains from time to time but NO over hyped Nor-ester

Ridgewood NJ, despite dire predictions and storm warnings NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) says a coastal storm system will bring unsettled weather across the Tri-State into Sunday. Expect periodic moderate to heavy rains .

Seems rather subdued given the over hyped predictions of a Nor-ester .

Weather Summary for the Local Tri-State Region
National Weather Service New York NY
420 AM EDT Sat May 13 2017

A coastal storm system will bring unsettled weather across the Tri-State into Sunday. Rain will continue to overspread the area through the day, becoming moderate to locally heavy at times this afternoon and evening. The rain will gradually taper off from west to east overnight. Temperatures today will be well below normal in the lower to middle 50s.

Mostly cloudy conditions are forecast on Sunday with temperatures warming into the 60s for most locations. Cooler temperatures in the 50s are expected across eastern Long Island and southeastern Connecticut. A few showers are possible, mainly in the afternoon and evening.

Starbucks to Open Drive Thru Location on Franklin Avenue in Ridgewood

starbucks

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, yes its true Starbucks is opening a second location in downtown Ridgewood, around the corner from its first coffee shop in the village on Ridgewood Avenue and you will not even have to park.

The new convenience Starbucks drive thru will eliminate the need for parking in Ridgewood’s central business district .

Located at the former Fleet Bank property ,next to TD Bank on Franklin Avenue the drive-through only location, will be unlike the Starbucks at 193 E. Ridgewood Avenue, which is a more traditional Starbucks .

The Starbucks coffee and go location will be the third food operation to attempt to make a go of the Fleet drive-through kiosk on Franklin Avenue. After the Fleet drive-through closed following the ’04 merger with Bank of America, a drive-through convenience store opened on the site in ’06 and was later was replaced by a short-lived drive-through coffee shop.

Observers see the new coffee and go location as a positive attempt to circumvent to peak period parking issues in the CBD , but concerns about possible added traffic congestion remain.

Police Called to House Party In Ridgewood after Alleged Assault

Ridgewood NJ, Uniformed patrol officers from Fair Lawn PD (2 units) and Paramus PD (3 units) were dispatched to aid Ridgewood PD in dispersing a large number of juveniles who had gathered to attend a party at a private home in the area of Newcomb Road, Ridgewood on Friday evening, 05/12. Ridgewood PD had received numerous 911 telephone calls from residents in the area reporting loud music, crowds of teenagers congregating, and unknown individuals running through back yards. Over 100 youths were dispersed from the area but not prior to an incident in which a 15 year old Wyckoff resident was allegedly struck in the head with a baseball bat by an adult male resident of Newcomb Road. An ambulance was called to evaluate the victim’s injuries, which were reported to have been non life threatening. No charges were immediately filed, however Ridgewood PD is investigating the alleged assault.

Reader asks So the The Gadsden flag is Ok for the 4th of July Parade then ?

Gadsden_flag_theridgewoodblog

The New Jersey Tea Party Coalition has marched in the Ridgewood Fourth of July Parade every year for at least the last five years. The administrators of the parade would not have permitted this without having determined in advance that the NJTPC, in so marching, is not acting to promote a political agenda. Councilman Voigt has determined in his infinite wisdom that the six-color crowd is not acting politically when it raises its flag on village property. (Presumably his next move will be to try and force the parade committee to allow the six-color crowd to march in support of their chosen lifestyle in the parade.) Based on Councilman Voigt’s logic, should we not expect him to vote “yes” when the NJTPC petitions the council to permit its flag to be raised and displayed all day every day during Tea Party Pride Month?

Reader says This is nothing but extremism

the Prisoner

There are many like me who do not really care about what people do in their bedrooms. Someone getting gay-married does nothing to my marriage so I couldn’t care less. We work with gay coworkers, have gay friends and really do not give any more thought to someone being gay than we do to someone being straight.

However, I only want the American flag flying on the Village Hall – not a rainbow flag, not a vegan flag, not a muslim flag, not a Black Lives Matter flag, and a Lenape flag and not the Confederate flag.

But it appears that if I as much as mention the same, I am going to be harassed and bullied for being a ‘bigot.’ How I lead my life, how I interact with people, how I do not discriminate at all between someone gay and someone straight in my real life does not matter. I am either screaming out my support for flying the rainbow flag or I am a bigot. I am suddenly no different from the people tossing gays off buildings.

This is nothing by extremism. And it is detrimental to the movement itself. Harassing and publicly bullying people may shut them down but the feelings of resentment will not disappear. This appears to be more of an attempt to ‘plant a flag’ and rub it in everyone’s face, rather than support for tolerance or anything.

Reader Points Out Rainbow Flag Opens a Can of Worms

WALLACE

If the Ridgewood chapter of the Confederate States of America Historical Society were to have their petition to fly their organization’s flag (the Stars and Bars battle flag) turned down, they would sue, successfully, and for plenty of money. If they received approval and their flag were raised over Van Neste Square, George Soros and his highly paid ninja-clad Antifa rioters would reduce Ridgewood to rubble in the space of three days. Village Council, you have brought this circumstance about by your foolishness and incapacity to ask your hired legal gun the right combination of questions. What are we to do with you? Send all five of you to a remedial Muni Law workshop in Atlantic City for the weekend? The Mayor and Deputy Mayor, up for re-election next year, need to get religion (small “r”) pronto.

Reader says All roads lead to Aronsohn Controled CRAB

Jeff Voigt Ridgewood Council

file photo by Boyd Loving

Curious- the Community Relations Advisory Board of Ridgewood and Glen Rock is harassing the hell out the Ridgewood Village Council/Mayor in requesting the pride flag be flown at our Town Hall. Are they requesting the same from Glen Rock Council/Mayor? What say you Jeff Voigt? Pretty sure this smells of town politics especially when you consider Jeff Voigt is best friends w Hans Lehman who is married to Jan Phillips, Chair of CRAB. Disgusting. They say this isn’t political but it is. CRAB is politicizing this. All roads lead to Aronson-also a member of CRAB.
RESIGN NOW JEFF. BEFORE THE RESIDENTS OF RIDGEWOOD RECALL YOU.
