Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, Ridgewood Emergency Services, and Ridgewood OEM personnel were all kept very busy handling flooding related requests for service on Monday, 12/18. One (1) such request came from the owner of a black colored SUV whose vehicle began floating out of her driveway, which is immediately adjacent to the Ho-Ho-Kus Brook. A small excavator parked in the same area was also affected. Ridgewood firefighters secured both vehicles to nearby tree trunks. As of 1100 hours on Monday, no storm related injuries had been reported.

Major League Pickleball and PPA Tour Announce Merger

Ridgewood NJ, Major League Pickleball (MLP) and the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour have officially merged, establishing a consolidated professional pickleball holding company. The merger, supported by a $50 million investment from SC Holdings and DC Pickleball Team owner Al Tylis, also involves investments from PPA Tour owner Tom Dundon and existing MLP team owners.

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock High School Student Council hosted a toy drive in collaboration with the Glen Rock Police Department, which concluded today. Student Council members assisted officers in loading up the toys for delivery this afternoon. All of the toys will benefit local children in need. The Glen Rock Police Police commended the students,”Great job students and a huge thank you to all who donated!”

Montvale NJ, according to Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali the Township of Montvale received a notice this week about the Parkway service area informing us that the existing convenience store associated with the on-site fueling area will be demolished, and a new one-story convenience store will be constructed. Additional improvements to the site to include the parking, drainage and fueling canopy changes.

Grove Street PATH Station Rehabilitation to Begin Jan. 6 for 20 Weekends Will Impact Service, and Station Access

Jersey City NJ, starting the weekend of Jan. 6, 2024, PATH will begin an extensive station rehabilitation effort over 20 weekends that will require adjustments for some customers traveling to or from the Grove St. station in order to complete this critical project without any disruption to weekday service. Riders in the impacted direction should plan for additional travel time if their trip begins or ends at Grove Street.

We received a copy from the author Tom Giacomaro , the “King of Con: himself through a mutual friend  in early February and finally got to reading it this past weekend .

Ridgewood Community Donates to the Less Fortunate for Christmas

Ridgewood NJ, community generosity for the Christmas season to help the less fortunate ,20 bags of toys, books, hats, mittens, scarves, jackets, beauty supplies and more were delivered to the Center for Hope and Safety. Food donations were donated to Social Services of Ridgewood and Vicinity.
