Ridgewood NJ, as previously reported Rafael Ramos a Mailman from Midland Park stood quietly in a Bergen County courtroom Friday after pleading guilty in  the 2018 roadway death of Edward Rao, a Ridgewood real estate agent.

Ramos will serve less than a year of jail time and he can return to his job as a postal worker following a fatal 2018 hit-and-run . The Court found Ramos guilty of hitting and killing 54-year-old Edward Rao with his car in September 2018. But the court said Ramos could keep his job as a postal worker during the day and return to jail at night.

Reportedly Ramos returned to the scene and spoke with police after the accident, but he did not mention that he hit Rao. County detectives arrested him five days later after finding a piece of his car at the scene and video footage of his car leaving the accident site.

Ridgewood NJ,long considered  forgone conclusion , Cory Booker this morning formally opted out of the 2020 presidential race. The Junior Senators campaign succumb to anemic poll numbers and a total lack on interest even in his home state of New Jersey. A campaign so bad he didn’t even rate the lead article on the Ridgewood blog today. Senator Booker ‘s critics point to his middling hyperbole and abject lack of substance often referring to him as Senator Cory Booker (twitter).

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewood Police department several vehicles in Ridgewood were vandalized by having their tires cut. The Ridgewood Police are currently investigating these crimes, however would like to take this opportunity to provide some safety tips. Park your vehicles in an area that is either well lit or has motion lights. Do not park your vehicles on the street over night, as it is not only against the ordinance, but easier to break into or vandalize. Park your vehicles closer to your house than the street when possible. If you have a camera system make sure one is pointed near your vehicle. Timers on house lights also give the appearance of someone being home. Always lock your vehicles and bring the keys inside with you. We ask if anyone reviews any of their cameras, even doorbell cameras, and sees anything suspicious to call the Ridgewood Police 201-652-3900
