Twp of Washington NJ,  Twp of Washington Residents are advised to be on the lookout Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) will be in the Township starting Monday May 10th and for approximately the next four or more weeks performing gas meter safety inspections of all Township residents. They will be in the Township Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.

MORE UPDATES : High Winds With Severe Thunderstorm Activity Possible Wednesday Afternoon

Ridgewood NJ, the National Weather Service warns that isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday afternoon and early evening, with damaging winds as the primary threat. This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.

BELMONT AVE IN GLEN ROCK IS CLOSED DUE TO A TREE DOWN. THERE WILL BE A DELAY IN SCHOOL TRAFFIC 

..A LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT PASSAIC...NORTHERN
BERGEN...NORTHWESTERN ESSEX...NORTHERN WESTCHESTER...ORANGE...WESTERN
PUTNAM AND ROCKLAND COUNTIES...

At 123 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Highview to near Frenchtown. Movement was
northeast at 65 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail are possible with these
storms.

Locations impacted include...
Wayne, New City, Newburgh, Middletown, West Milford, Ridgewood,
Peekskill, Monsey, Nanuet, Ramsey, Ringwood, Haverstraw, Pompton
Lakes, Suffern and Monroe.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 PM EDT for
northeastern New Jersey...and southeastern New York.

Saddle River Fire Department: Carbon Monoxide Detectors Save Lives

Saddle River NJ, last week the Saddle River Fire Department was dispatched to a residence on Old Woods Rd for an activated Carbon Monoxide Alarm. Engine 1131, PSEG, and Saddle River Police responded and investigated the cause for the activation. Valley Health System Paramedic Unit 413 also responded and evaluated the residents for Carbon Monoxide exposure.
These types of Incidents are reminders that smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide detectors save lives.

Ridgewood NJ, the National weather service has issued a wind advisory for today till 4pm . The WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON . Expect Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.  For portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York.  .Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Due to snow melt and recent rainfall some tree root systems may be somewhat compromised potentially leading to some uprooted trees.

Accident Sends Car Careening into Single Family Home in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, the impact of a two (2) vehicle Saturday night, 01/30, crash in the 14-00 block of Morlott Avenue, Fair Lawn sent one (1) of the vehicles careening off of Morlott Avenue into a nearby single family home. No injuries were reported by either vehicle’s occupants, nor occupants of the home, and damage to the structure did not appear to be severe in nature. Fair Lawn Police, Fair Lawn Heavy Rescue, and Fair Lawn Fire Department Company #1 responded to the incident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. In light of possible structural damage, a Borough of Fair Lawn building inspector was requested by Fire Department personnel, as was a representative from PSE&G.

PSE&G to Jump-Start Electric Vehicle Charging in New Jersey

Ridgewood NJ,  the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities today approved a settlement that will enable PSE&G to develop electric vehicle charging infrastructure in New Jersey. With this approval, the state’s largest utility is expected to invest $166 million over an expected six years and create about 270 direct clean energy jobs while helping to build out the state’s EV charging infrastructure.

Ridgewood NJ, PSE&G state wide storm update as of 4pm December 25th :

Strong winds and hazardous gusts throughout PSE&G’s service territory caused downed trees, branches and wires. As of 4 p.m., approximately 5,800 of our 2.3 million customers were without service. The majority of those customers are in Bergen County.

Power Outages Darken Willard School Area in Ridgewood on Christmas Day

Ridgewood NJ, according to Ridgewood Mayor Susan Knudsen PSEG is aware of the outages in Ridgewood and have dispatched all available crews in the field. PSEG has also mobilized additional PSEG crews from central NJ to assist in the area. Please email if you have any immediate concerns [email protected]

The Ridgewood blog is hearing the power outages are mostly confined to the Willard school area . The ETA in the Willard area is either tomorrow morning or Sunday morning.

According to resident Tony Loving , “Exxon station on Maple Avenue at the Glen rock border with Ridgewood is open”  if you need gas for a generator .
