Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approved  a Memorandum of Agreement, subject to mutually agreed-upon contract language, establishing the terms and conditions for a successor collective negotiations agreement between the Ridgewood Board of Education and the Ridgewood Education Association (REA), effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2024.

Academy of Our Lady School Placed into Lockdown after Ridgewood Parent became upset over school’s COVID-19 policies

Glen Rock NJ, an early morning call ( 8:36 AM ) on Wednesday May 12th resulted in multiple Glen Rock officers were dispatched to the Academy of Our Lady School in response to an irate and aggressive individual at their door which had resulted in the school being placed into lockdown in order to protect the students. Upon arrival officers field contacted a 46-year-old Ridgewood man who was aggressively knocking on the doors and windows.  Investigation determined that he was a parent who was upset about the school’s COVID-19 policies. Officers were able to calm the man down and acknowledge that his behavior had caused a disruption at the school.  The principal explained what he needed to do in order to comply with school policy and the man left the area without further incident.

Ridgewood Parks & Recreation Day Camp will run in 2021

Ridgewood NJ, according to Councilwoman Bernadette Walsh, who is the Village Council liaison to the Parks & Rec Conservation Board and the Field Committee, the Parks & Recreation Department is happy to announce that Summer Day Camp will return this year.  While there may still be some changes to the camp, we can confirm that it will run from Tuesday, June 29-Friday, August 6 from 9 am-1:30 pm with the exception of days when it rains and camp is cancelled.  Campers will be placed in groups with a 20:2 ratio or less.  Summer Camp will still consist of organized games, arts & crafts, and swim time at Graydon Pool.

Ridgewood NJ, Neither COVID or a light rain could stop the Village of Ridgewood’s 2020 Veterans Day Ceremony held at Van Neste Memorial Park .The Ridgewood Police Honor Guard presented the colors for  the Veterans Day ceremony .

Mayor Susan Kundsen , Deputy Mayor Mike Sedon , Sergeant James Leonard, American Legion Post  53 Commander Bob Paoli , Legionnaire Bill Leahy, and Father John Ginty were among the speakers ( we will update  as we get more information). National Anthem sung by Sally Ann Tumas-Skoric.  Other council members in attendance Pan Perron, Lorraine Reynolds and Bernadette Walsh .
