Ridgewood NJ, For children K-8, we are offering a robust program to support families as we navigate the new schedule being implemented by local schools. Our staff are here to help students on-site during their remote learning sessions to ensure they are connected with their teachers and to help with their classwork and schoolwork. Enrichment and wellness programming rounds out their day when they are not online with their class. Additionally, we are offering before and after care from 7:00am until the start of school and from the end of the school day until 6:30pm. Parents can learn more on our website by clicking here. Are Ridgewood Officers Using Excessive Force? Find Out What Laws Protect You

police lights 1

Author : Wendy Erickson

Police are authorized to protect citizens and make sure people don’t break the law.

However, we have witnessed cases where the police have used too much force while carrying out these duties.

With George Floyd’s case still fresh in our minds, we can’t help but feel vulnerable in the face of such brutality and excessive force.

We, in New Jersey, have not been spared and cases such as the one in Ridgewood, where a boy accused of obstructing traffic was arrested in a manner that felt excessively forceful.

All the Important Things to Know Before Getting for a Mortgage

realestate_forsale_theridgewoodblog

We all want a better life for us and our family. However, most life upgrades cost money, and you can’t always just pull out a couple hundred thousand dollars to get something you need. This is where a mortgage comes in. A mortgage is a special type of loan that you can take out to buy a piece of property, and you pay it back in installments over the years. The catch? If you fail to make a payment, the mortgage company can repossess your property and sell it to get their money back. So, mortgages are definitely an option for some, but there are a couple of things you need to be aware of before applying for one. Before we start, it’s also important to understand other types of mortgages, like a reverse mortgage in Nevada, or in any other state.

Reader suggests its time for “compulsory military service”

“These kids are an embarrassment to themselves, our town and their parents.

So tired of these whiney teenage brats. Relatives of mine in Israel have always told me that terrible leftist politics and values as well and the lack of compulsory military service would lead to the inevitable rot and deterioration of American youths. Alas, they have a point.”

Ridgewood Back the Blue

117035798 10200402626651754 9156709973088477872 n
Good morning everyone!
I’m reaching out to our Ridgewood community on behalf of my children and all of the kids that look up to law enforcement. I think with all that has been going on in Ridgewood we have lost sight of the fact that the men and women in our Ridgewood Police Department are our friends and our neighbors. Our children go to school with their children, they have play dates and celebrate birthdays together. They wave to us from their driveways and shovel out our elderly neighbors. For those of us that grew up here these are the guys that we cheered for under the Friday night lights. Despite the hate and vitriol that has surrounded this town I know many among us want to show our appreciation and our support.. that’s where I come in!
Starting this Wednesday through next Wednesday I will have a drop box on my front step for those that want to drop off notes of encouragement and thanks for our men and women in blue. The more cards the better! Make it a family project and have the kids make cards of their own! Next week I will gather the cards with my kids and we will deliver them with special treats as a way to show our police officers that this town still appreciates them!
Feel free to share so we can spread the word!
Thanks everyone!
Erin Leigh Yates
