Ridgewood NJ, In a huge victory for the mayor ,the state Local Finance Board dismissed not one but two ethics complaints against Villlage mayor, Susan Knudsen.
The first complaint, filed in February 2017 by Ridgewood resident Don Delzio, alleged that during her tenure as member of the village council, Knudsen had not alerted other village officials about potential conflicts of interest that affected members of her family financially.
Delzio alleged that Knudsen’s August 2014 vote to uphold an extant residency requirement for police officers and firefighters directly led to three of her sons obtaining positions as employees in both departments.
Then in the second complaint, Delzio alleged that, throughout the summer of 2014, Knudsen worked to delay votes in favor of redeveloping the historic Schedler property into a sports field, and that she later voted in favor of a resolution that would request county funds for the land’s preservation.
Delzio claimed this presented a direct conflict of interest, in that Knudsen’s parents own a home within 200 feet of the Schedler property.
Both allegations have been repeated many times on this blog and were resoundingly refuted .
The Local Finance Board offered the very same refutation that has been stated on this blog many times in the form of a dismissal .On the first complaint it was not their jurisdiction it was a civil service matter and on the second Delzio complaint ,there is no factual basis!
Aronohn was there for eight years and left a mess. knudsen had me at 3066 repealed and we should never forget the garagezilla, huge multifamily apartments, 94’high Valley expansion, the clear cutting of public lands, healthvarn giveaway, the uncivil aronsohn puccciareli hauck sonenfeld bunch.
Some mess to clean up and good job .
“Schedler protected from RBA? Check” Speaking of “check” what happened to the $100000 check the RBA paid to fund the project? Why was the check never deposited as required by law? Who authorized Sonenfeld to illegally hold and return the money? More shenanigans from the rogue former village manager. Who knew about the bait and switch application for county grant money?

Ridgewood NJ, Casting director Kelli Calabrese gives us her pitch on keeping your New Years Resolutions and goal setting .
Calabrese says , “Do you know someone who sets a goal and runs after it with massive action? I have friends who act like androids continually crushing their goals and rising to the top at whatever they set out to do. I realize they are rare, however far too many give up too easily on their dreams.
A select few give their dreams their all. They are in the minority.
So what’s the difference between making excuses and quitting versus putting your head down and being fully sold out and attached to reaching the most excellent outcome?
You need to sell yourself. You need to sign yourself up fully for what ever it is that you want to do, be, have or give. Your belief in the outcome must be unshakable.
If you were Thomas Edison, would you have invented the lightbulb? Would you have failed over 1,000 times and kept believing it was possible and putting all of your resources into making it a reality?
The truth is that some of you already quit on your 2018 goals because you never fully believed it was possible. You might say that you want to lose weight or quit smoking or pay off debt or take that dream vacation, but do you know that you know that you know, deep in your soul that you will make it happen? Are you willing to invest the resources and do what ever is necessary to achieve it?
How can you increase your chances of achieving your 2018 goals?
Write them down, read them daily, make them public.
Build EXTRAORDINARY belief in yourself, your product or service and your ability to make it happen.
Recruit others to share the vision, advise, hold accountable, support and mentor you.
STOP making excuses. Once you complain or make excuses you have one foot on the breaks and are close to quitting.
Find someone doing what you want to do (or be or have or give) and duplicate their success.
Set up rewards along the way and have a celebration planned for when you achieve your goal. Recognition, fun and celebration make the hardness in transforming, stretching and growing more manageable.
Have a daily method of thinking and acting that moves you closer to your goal each day.
If someone quits after a month or 2 or 6 they weren’t truly committed. They didn’t even give the seeds of their work time to grow.
How could you expect someone else to commit and follow you when you weren’t TRULY committed?
The moment you recruit yourself is the moment when everything changes. It won’t typically happen right away but it will happen!
When your goals are achieved you will enjoy the sweet spot of your passion, purpose and profit coming together! It’s priceless”

If a private business on Village property costs the Village money, it is not a good fit with Ridgewood. You can’t draw any clearer picture. If, somehow, this statement isn’t true, please quit ignoring all the complaints and prove the contrary. Putting blinders on may help you not see it, but it won’t lessen the money being stolen by them. “Stolen”: the taking of something that does not belong to you and profiting from it. “Stolen” the peace and quiet of a neighborhood–excess vehicles. excess lights, excess noise. The residents moved into a quiet residential neighborhood with little activity on their streets. The prior council decided it was fair to all to take this away and turn a residential area into a business zone. And lose money besides! This isn’t an airport which would have been obvious and one could have chosen not to live there. Businesses were not permitted in residential areas. And not permitted on areas purchased with Green Acres money. That place is at the opposite extreme from peaceful green acres. Can’t the council show how all this is legal and acceptable? How they can’t be forced out? That the town makes actual money even counting all the funds that the village has expended and will continue to spend? Please come out from hiding under your beds and tell us what is really going on! The council is obviously acting under the assumption if they “see no evil, do no evil” all will just disappear quietly into the mists of time. NOT!!
