Glen Rock Student Finds Swastika Penned on Desk Top

The desk is located in a classroom shared by sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

Ridgewood NJ, free at-home COVID-19 tests are now available again for all Americans . Earlier this week, the Biden administration re-upped its free COVID-19 testing kit program. For the second year in a row, every household in America can now order a total of four free rapid tests via COVIDTests.gov. Note that the program stipulates four tests per household, not individual, so if you live with roommates, a partner, or children, you may want to procure extra testing kits to tide you through the winter.

Secaucus NJ,  New Jersey Transit Police officers and travelers combined efforts to save a commuter’s life recently. In November, Officer Yahm was notified of a possible stroke victim on a train at Secaucus Junction. There, he located an unresponsive commuter on a waiting train. A fellow traveler was administering chest compressions.⁣

Glen Rock NJ, on December 8th at  1:59 PM , Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to Plymouth Road in response to a resident’s report that a male subject attempted to enter vehicles in their neighbor’s driveway.  The actor was described as about 5’9” tall wearing grey sweatpants, a hooded shirt, and black sneakers, who departed the area on Plymouth Road towards Lowell Road in a dark-colored Audi with tinted license plate covers.

Retiring Ridgewood Library Director Nancy Greene Honored

Ridgewood NJ, the Village Council honored Ridgewood Library Director Nancy Greene with a proclamation  that declared December 14th, Nancy Greene Day in the Village of Ridgewood, in honor of the library director’s upcoming retirement. Greene announced her retirement as of January 1st after dedicating 27 years of service to what is often ranked as the best public library in Bergen County .

New Proposed Regulations Would Allow NJ TRANSIT to Suspend Ridership Privileges for Individuals who Assault Transit Employees

Ridgewood NJ, in accordance with a new state law signed earlier this year, the NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors today approved the start of the process to enact new regulations designed to strengthen protections for transit workers.  The proposed regulations would establish a procedure by which NJ TRANSIT would be able to administratively suspend ridership privileges for individuals who assault transit employees while also creating due process for offenders to appeal proposed suspensions.
