DELAYED OPENING FOR RIDGEWOOD SCHOOLS

Ridgewood NJ, Due to the inclement weather expected tomorrow morning, all Ridgewood schools will operate under the delayed opening schedule tomorrow, January 20.  Under the delayed opening schedule, the school day will begin two hours later than usual. School bus schedules will operate two hours later.

Elementary school children who have not ordered lunch must bring a bag lunch to school. There will not be sufficient time for children to go home for lunch.

For students who walk to school, please dress warmly and allow extra time and caution while walking.

Man Fresh Out of Detox Hijacks an Ambulance From Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus

Paramus NJ, according to the Bergen County sheriff’s office, a man got into a private ambulance while it was unattended on hospital property and drove off. The man who had recently been released from a detox program at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center was arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of an ambulance from the parking lot.

Motor Vehicle Accident on Prospect Street and Franklin Turnpike in Waldwick

Waldwick NJ, on Wednesday Waldwick Volunteer Fire Department units were on scene of a two car motor vehicle accident at Prospect Street and Franklin Turnpike. Fire department Crews secured both vehicles and spread speedi-Dri on the fluids that were released on the pavement. Traffic was backed up in all directions during the aftermath. Waldwick Police gave an assist at the scene .

NJ State Police Arrest Man Who Fired a Gun at a Motorist on Garden State Parkway

Toms River  NJ, The New Jersey State Police have arrested William Sabo, 22, of Berkeley, N.J., for allegedly brandishing a handgun and shooting at another vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County.
On January 12, troopers from the State Police Galloway Station, along with detectives from the Troop “D” Criminal Investigation Office, responded to the Community Medical Center in Toms River for the report of a shooting that occurred on the Garden State Parkway. When troopers arrived, they discovered that a male victim was allegedly struck by gunfire while traveling southbound on the Garden State Parkway in the area of exit 80.

50% of Voters Rate Biden’s First Year ‘Very Unsuccessful’

Ridgewood NJ, President Joe Biden’s first year in office has been a failure, according to a majority of voters who say the Democrat has left the country more divided than when he was inaugurated.

A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that just 12% of Likely U.S. voters rate Biden’s first year in office Very Successful, while another 26% say his first year as president has been Somewhat Successful. Ten percent (10%) believe Biden has been Somewhat Unsuccessful during his first year in office, while 50% rate his first year Very Unsuccessful. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Paramus NJ, Senator Anthony M. Bucco said group homes and long-term care facilities are almost certain to face a staffing crisis resulting from a new executive order by Governor Phil Murphy.

“Nursing homes, group homes, and veterans homes are already struggling to find enough skilled staff to care for New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents,” said Bucco (R-25). “By eliminating the testing alternative to vaccination for workers in these settings, Governor Murphy is virtually guaranteeing that residents will face a shortage of caregivers. That will lead to unnecessary tragedies in facilities that have already sustained thousands of deaths during the pandemic.”

Ridgewood NJ, With traffic congestion costing U.S. drivers an average of 36 hours and $564 during 2021, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2022’s Best & Worst States to Drive in, New Jersey surprisingly did not do as poorly as expected . We all noticed the increasing congestion and massive  traffic backup’s on Route 4 and Route 17 . New Jersey placed 38 overall with a score of  53.75 . We ranked 36th in cost of ownership,  48th Traffic & Infrastructure and amazingly ,ranked  4th in safety.
