Washiington DC, the recent Supreme Court ruling declaring race-based university admissions unconstitutional marks a significant turning point in the pursuit of a color-blind society. As we contemplate the implications of this decision, it is imperative that we consider what comes next. One area that warrants attention is the elimination of race-based considerations in procurement.
Unfortunately, in this realm, the Black community bears the brunt of blame, without reaping commensurate benefits.

Ridgewood Water is Working on a Water Main Replacement Along Dunham Trail

Ridgewood Water (RW) has contracted Shauger Property Services Inc. to complete a water main replacement along the commonly known PSE&G Utility Right of Way (PSEG ROW) in Ridgewood from and including Dunham Trail (at Spring Avenue), along the edge of Brookside Field, to just north of East Ridgewood Avenue.  The existing 12” diameter transmission main is critical aging infrastructure to the water utility and will be upsized to a 20” diameter water main. The work also includes installation of a 10” diameter raw water main as part of RW’s PFAS treatment centralization project.

Driver Arrested After Ridgewood Crash

Ridgewood NJ, a Friday afternoon, 02/02, two (2) vehicle collision in the 300 block of Linwood Avenue, Ridgewood heavily damaged a Toyota Camry and resulted in the arrest of its driver for suspected DUI following the administration of a field sobriety test. A Jeep Cherokee was the other vehicle involved; it sustained moderate damage when the Camry slammed into its rear end. A flatbed tow truck removed the Toyota from the scene. The Jeep was driven away on its own power. Ridgewood Police officers transported the DUI suspect to Ridgewood Police headquarters for processing. Ridgewood firefighters attended to a crash related fluid spill.

Proposed Teaneck School Curriculum Criticized as Veiled Attempt to Promote Terrorism and Anti-Semitism

Teaneck NJ, a new proposal by School Superintendent Andre Spencer to collaborate with “outside organizations” for educating students on “global issues” has faced criticism. Spencer’s letter suggested partnering with groups like the Anti-Defamation League and the New Jersey chapter of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR-NJ) to create webinars for schools.
