Ridgewood NJ, For children K-8, we are offering a robust program to support families as we navigate the new schedule being implemented by local schools. Our staff are here to help students on-site during their remote learning sessions to ensure they are connected with their teachers and to help with their classwork and schoolwork. Enrichment and wellness programming rounds out their day when they are not online with their class. Additionally, we are offering before and after care from 7:00am until the start of school and from the end of the school day until 6:30pm. Parents can learn more on our website by clicking here. Ridgewood NJ, PSEG updates as of yesterday at 4:45 pm ”

PSE&G estimates that Tropical Storm Isaias is its fifth most severe storm in history and the second most severe, to Superstorm Sandy, in the past eight years. With crews working 16-hour shifts and around the clock, PSE&G expects to have at least 85% of customers without power restored by tomorrow.

“I still chuckle at white kids from Ridgewood with a sign that says “Pay Reparations”.

OK, if the protesters want reparations paid, they can hit up mommy and daddy for a few hundred thousand and that should solve the problem.

What’s that you say? “Oh, no, we don’t want to *personally* pay the reparations”. We prefer to have the reparations paid by the non-protesting Ridgewood citizens.”

However, we have witnessed cases where the police have used too much force while carrying out these duties. 

With George Floyd’s case still fresh in our minds, we can’t help but feel vulnerable in the face of such brutality and excessive force. 

We, in New Jersey, have not been spared and cases such as the one in Ridgewood, where a boy accused of obstructing traffic was arrested in a manner that felt excessively forceful.

Ridgewood NJ, Tropical Storm Isaias was no challenge to the Volunteers of Ridgewood Emergency Services. With all Emergency Services trucks well prepared, ready and staffed with volunteers, the Ridgewood
Emergency Services units responded to over 100 requests for service during the fast-moving storm.  In advance of the Isaias, the volunteers had to well prepared at their own homes prior to heading to
headquarters for storm duty. While at headquarters they made sure that all equipment was ready to mitigate the hazards that comes with a tropical storm.

To maintain pressure for firefighting, all Ridgewood Water customers are asked to please conserve water during this period.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Parks and Shade Tree Divisions, along with the Streets Division, are working diligently to remove the downed trees from the streets.  They will continue to work during the day and into the evening, until all streets have been cleared.  CAUTION: ALWAYS ASSUME ANY WIRE ON THE GROUND IS LIVE AND STAY AWAY!  CALL PSE&G AND IDENTIFY ITS LOCATION SO THAT THEY CAN SEND SOMEONE TO CHECK IT.  Downed trees which are caught in wires will be attended to after PSE&G has determined whether or not the wires are live.

Ridgewood NJ,  according to Boyd Loving a family on Heights Road escaped injury when a Village owned tree fell onto their home while they were inside. One of the owners reported that the home’s roof was pierced by tree branches.
An unoccupied home on Avondale Road appeared to have sustained minor damage when a Village owned tree fell into it.Two (2) passenger vehicles parked on McKinley Place were damaged when a privately owned tree fell on top of them.

* rain impact is 1-3 inches of rain
* 30%-40% chance of flood impact between10am and 4pm
