Hackensack NJ, around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, an unidentified man, was fatally struck by a NJ Transit train near Passaic Street in Hackensack. The train had departed from Hoboken around 2:13 p.m. and was Spring Valley bound.
Glen Rock NJ, on September 21st at 09:28 a.m. Glen Rock Patrols were dispatched to the area of Boulevard and Rock Road to check on the welfare of a man walking the street who appeared to be bleeding from the head and showing signs of trauma. The man was subsequently located on the 400 block of Doremus Avenue. Investigation found that the subject had been assaulted by unknown individuals in Paterson who beat him repeatedly with metal pipes. The subject, a 39-year-old Glen Rock man, was transported by ambulance to the trauma unit at Hackensack University Medical Center. Any criminal investigation into the matter will be conducted by the Paterson Police Department. The victim was unable to identify his attackers.
Teaneck NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of AVI MANDEL (DOB: 02/28/1990; married; high school teacher) of Teaneck, NJ on charges of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, Possession Of Marijuana, and Possession Of Narcotic Paraphernalia. The arrest is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Teaneck Police Department under the direction of Chief Glenn M. O’Reilly.
Fair lawn NJ, One (1) non-life threatening injury was reported following a Wednesday afternoon, 09/02 motor vehicle crash inside of the Jack Daniels Kia dealership at 29-09 Broadway, Fair Lawn. Fair Lawn Police and a BLS ambulance from Hackensack University Medical Center responded to the incident. The damaged vehicle, a white colored Kia, was able to be driven away from the interior crash scene and parked in an exterior service lot. No word from police on the scene as to who was driving the vehicle when it crashed, nor what the vehicle hit. The injured driver, an adult male, walked to the ambulance on his own power.

Paramus NJ, A rolled over truck blocked the exit ramp from the Garden State Parkway southbound to Route 17 southbound in Paramus during rush hour on Monday morning, 07/06. The truck’s driver self extricated prior to the arrival of emergency responders. Injuries were reported to be non life threatening in nature; one (1) person was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. Paramus Police, Paramus Fire Department, and Paramus EMS assisted NJ State Police Bloomfield Barracks troopers at the scene. The truck appeared to have been larger than the Parkway’s current weight limit for commercial vehicles; police at the scene did not say whether any summonses would be issued to the driver.
Ridgewood NJ, RHS sophomore Ani Martirossian created an essential “nurse purse” for local nurses who are serving on the front lines. Each nurse purse contains crucial health and beauty products that can be used on the go. To date, they have delivered over 500 bags to four local hospitals: The Valley Hospital, Holy Name Medical Center, Englewood Hospital, and Hackensack University Medical Center.
