Ridgewood NJ, according to the National Weather Service , snow likely on Wednesday, mainly between 10am and 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Ridgewood NJ, the Hudson garage’s new elevator is flooded and not working ,making the parking facility non ADA compliant. It has also come to our attention the the roof top was not plowed after the recent snow and there are some concerns over the quality of the construction of the facility .
Once again we “circle back” ,to wonder how the Village is planning on paying for this thing ,given the global pandemic , the raise of “remote work” and limited hours and capacities of Village retail and restaurants?
To matters worse it is going to be in the 50’s today melting even more snow.

idgewood NJ, New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti has issued a commercial vehicle travel restriction on multiple Interstate highways in New
Jersey starting at 4 a.m., Thursday, February 18 based on the forecast for heavy snow. Snow is expected to begin overnight before the morning commute, with periods of heavy snow forecast
during the day. Precipitation is expected to continue through the afternoon commute and into Friday. The travel restrictions are being coordinated with neighboring states. In addition to the commercial
restrictions, all motorists are strongly encouraged to stay off the roads on Thursday. The safest place to be is at home.

Ridgewood NJ, the National Weather Services has issued a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 4 am Thursday to 7 pm Friday .Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York . Snow expected. Snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are expected Thursday, with total snowfall accumulations of 5 to 9 inches by the end of the event on Friday.

Ridgewood NJ, all Village offices will be open tomorrow, 2/3/2021. Bulk refuse pickup will take place on the Eastside, tomorrow, 2/3/2021. Bring your regular garbage to the end of your driveways through 2/5/2021. As a reminder, once rear yard garbage pickup resumes, if you do not have a clear path to your garbage cans, please continue to bring garbage to the end of your driveway to have it picked up on your regular garbage collection days.

Ridgewood NJ, all Ridgewood Public Schools will reopen February 3rd following the regular hybrid schedule on Wednesday. Please use caution and allow extra time to travel. For those students who walk to school, please dress warmly, allow for extra time, and use caution while walking.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Police remind residents to remove all ice and snow from your vehicle before driving, especially from the hood, windows and roof. It’s the law in New Jersey! Motorists who fail to do so face fines of $25 to $75 for each offense, regardless of whether the ice and snow is dislodged from the vehicle.

Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood is asking residents to please keep your vehicles off of the streets today , so that our crews can do their work. Overnight parking on February 2nd. For those with overnight parking permits in the Central Business District, vehicles should be parked on the 2nd floor of the Hudson Street Garage.

Paramus NJ, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Spotted this in Paramus on Linwood Avenue on Tuesday , the home owner neatly cleaned their sidewalk ,while the Garden State Parkway failed to do so .The Borough of Paramus would issue a fine to the home owner if they failed to shovel off the sidewalk, but the Garden State Parkway suffers no consequence ?
