Newark NJ, on Thursday December 14th, a Texas longhorn steer captured the hearts of people throughout the tri-state area and animal lovers everywhere. The bull, named Ricardo, wandered onto the train tracks at Newark Penn Station while police officers and animal rescue workers attempted to safely corral him.
Ricardo was safely captured and transported to Skylands Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in Sussex County where he was seen by a veterinarian and is now resting comfortably.

Newark NJ, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced today that nearly 14 million travelers are expected to use its airports and vehicular crossings during the 13-day peak travel period from Thursday, Dec. 21, to Tuesday, Jan. 2. The Port Authority expects this to be the busiest Christmas and New Year travel period ever for its three major airports, a continuation of travel trends seen throughout the year.

Newark NJ, FBI Newark Safe Streets Gang Task Forces based in Newark Headquarters and the North Jersey Violent Crime Task Force based at the Garret Mountain Resident Agency worked with law enforcement agencies in Hudson, Passaic and Essex Counties to organize a month-long effort titled Operation Clean House to proactively locate and arrest violent offenders in a strategic effort to address violent crime. FBI agents, task force officers, and detectives made 29 arrests beginning November 1, through December 1, 2023. The charges range from drug possession, conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and heroin, to manslaughter and murder.

On Wednesday night, the Newark City Council introduced an ordinance that proposes lowering the voting age to 16 specifically for school board elections. Hackensack NJ, Tuesday afternoon City of Hackensack Deputy 4, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Engine 2,Engine 4 and Engine 1 were dispatched to 280 Clark Street for an activated fire alarm. Arriving units investigated and found unattended cooking in apartment 4E which caused a grease fire to ignite and activate a nearby sprinkler head. The fire was contained to the kitchen however there was water damage in apartments 3E, 2E and 1E displacing residents until repairs are made. City of Hackensack building department along with fire prevention bureau responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
