11-foot Sculpture of a Massive Fish Named Finn at the Woodcliff Lake Reservoir to Highlight Conservation

Woodcliff lake NJ, to celebrate Earth Day, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco joined Veolia for the unveiling of an 11-foot sculpture of a massive fish named Finn at the Woodcliff Lake Reservoir to highlight conservation efforts. Constructed from repurposed metal, Finn encourages residents to recycle and is large enough to hold more than 15 trash bags of plastic bottles.

Firefighters Battle Single Family Home Blaze in New Milford

New Milford NJ, just before 6:20 this evening the New Milford NJ Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to a reported fire on the side of a home on Holly Street. Deputy 2 was first arriving and confirmed the fire on the alpha delta corner extending into the attic and requested the working fire assignment. Engine 32 was the first arriving engine company and quickly stretched 2 lines to the fire. Tower 31 started searching for victims. An additional alarm was transmitted at 6:25 to bring more resources to the scene. There were no injuries and the fire was placed under control just after 7:00.

Corvette Destroyed in Detached Garage Fire in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, a 2015 Chevy Corvette was reportedly destroyed in a fire that heavily damaged the detached garage of a single family home located in the 100 block of Ackerman Avenue, Ridgewood early Saturday evening, 04/22. A brand new BMW SUV and a snowblower were both safely removed from the garage after the property owner noticed smoke coming from the structure. Ridgewood firefighters extinguished the conflagration shortly after their arrival. No injuries were evident at the scene. Unconfirmed reports indicate the Corvette’s battery was being trickle charged at the time of the fire. Ridgewood Police and Ridgewood Emergency Services personnel also responded to the incident.
